Hi Celmar,

Have you checked the Corona render settings and 'Scene environment'  to see if there is anything that could be lighting the scene in there?

That normally catches me out.

Hi Celmar,

Your 'Master' computer needs a full licenced copy of Cinema 4D and a full licenced copy of Corona Renderer.
Each render node needs Cinema 4d team render and Corona renderer installed. When you attempt to install Corona Render on each node, it will recognise the version of Cinema 4D and install in the appropriate folder for team render to locate it and load successfully.
For the nodes to operate with your master computer, you need to have Corona renderer node licences for each one and these are bought separately from your original Corone Renderer purhase. When you have bought enough node licences, the Chaos Licence Server on each node will be allowed to run with team render.

Thank you. I think we will wait for the ticket response just to be sure.

Thank you Tom.

My project manager submitted a ticket (about 3 hours ago), but thought the forum might answer more quickly, which has happened!

Thanks Maru. Please can you point out where on the pages i can show my IT the option to only subscribe for 1 month? I see the monthly cost, but it I can't see where it says for only 1 month. :)

I am running an animation and can bring in another PC to render, but only need to do it for this one job.

Does anyone know if you can licence a render node for just one month, or do you have to commit to a year?

Hardware / Re: I9 14900K AIO Suggestions
« on: 2024-10-14, 10:58:02 »
I have an i9 13900K with an AIO and it scores 1850 on Cinebench 2024. I only have the XMP boosted too. I reseated the cooler block on the CPU twice with new thermal paste and it made no difference, so either the online Cinebench results are inflated for one reason or another, or my cooler isn't working well. It thermal throttles almost immediately on the multiscore test, but never reaches more than 70 degrees on singlescore. I gave up trying to find an improvement after several nights of working through different BIOs setups and motherboard software settings and resigned to being 20% slower than I had hoped.

Hi,

I love the animation and have wanted to find the time to model a yacht and animate myself. Here is a link to a youtube video (see from 01:07) of a yacht of similar size and speed and you can get a good comparison of what you have done and the real life wake and yacht movement.

I have a bit of a boating background and from my memory here are a few thoughts on the animation and small details that can help. I think you have missed a trick in not including both the ensign and radar, that could be animated bringing a bit more detail and realism. A little bit of pitch and roll in the boat movement would also help as it looks like it is just ploughing through the water, which never always happens even in the slightest of conditions and much larger yachts. The bow wake also has a turbulence and can be seen in the video clip.

You have made a great start!

I have just tried Bnji's suggestion and two files that took 20 minutes each to load opened in less than 15 seconds.

I just deselected the locations of my file asset paths and rebooted Cinema 4D (R2024.4.1)

Corona version 12 daily build Apr 14

 Many thanks for the tip!

[C4D] I need help! / Re: Corona Shadow Catcher for interior
« on: 2024-05-21, 10:43:15 »
Have you thought about applying the background photo onto your CGI model of the room using a corona material with frontal projection? If the camera is setup so your CGI model matches the room in the photo, and you recreate light placements as in the photo, i can only imagine you will get a decent result. I tend to only use shadow catcher materials on ground planes for product visualisations on white backgrounds or where I know the shadows won't cast onto walls and furniture in a room.

Needing some advice regarding my workstation.

I've had my current 3990x computer since they came out and it has performed great until recently.  It's a prebuild from PC Specialist, which isnt quite the build I wanted as I requested a Noctua fan cooler for the CPU, but was told that it wasnt compatible with the chip.  So ended up going with the Coolermaster MasterLiquid ML360 RGB TR4.  Every now and again it will just shut off without warning, losing work in the process.  I ignored it for awhile thinking it was just a glitch, but it has happening more frequently now.  I suspect it is overheating as temps were reaching 95degrees underload and around 75 degrees idle, i've since switched off PBO, which has reduced the temps a little, but still having occassions were the computer just turns off.

I'm looking to replace the cooler and having done some reasearch purchased the beQuiet silent loop 2.  However, having now received this I dont think its going to do the job as it doesnt cover the whole chip.  So looking to return it and replace it with something else.  I'm looking at one of the following options:

Noctua NH-U14S TR4-SP3
Icegaint ProSiphon Elite
Silverstone IceGem 360

The icegaint seems to be the best for cooling, but man that thing is ugly.  I was thinking of getting the Icegem as it covers the whole die and from what I've read on this forum from dfcorona seems to perform well.

Any thoughts, help or suggestions appreciated.

I had the same issue a while ago and it turned out it was my power supply, worth a look perhaps?

I had the same experience as Adam with the power supply in my Intel i9 13900k system about a year ago. I sent it back to PCSpecialist and they replaced it and all has been fine since.

You might find using the Node Material Editor a quicker way of setting up materials with Corona Bitmap. If you create a physical material and then create a Corona Bitmap shader and then copy that enough times for the number of textures you want to use. Then, connect the output node of each bitmap to the input node and then go into each Bitmap and select the texture you want for each one. Attached is a quick screenshot of what I mean above.

The added benefit of this is if you want to use the same texture file more than once in a material and you can connect one output to multiple inputs.

I don't know about when converting a material that it adds the Corona Bitmap for you, but when you create a new material, you do need to add the Corona Bitmap plugin for each channel you want to add a texture to. Corona will accept textures without the Corona Bitmap, but it won't read the texture quite the same and the benefits of the plugin won't be seen either. This has been talked about in other posts and requests for this to become an automatic feature when creating new corona materials.

Hi Handz,

Regarding Corona Bitmap, for each texture map you want to use within a material, your workflow would be:
e.g.
texture>plugins>corona>bitmap - then select the texture map you want to use
or
Glossiness>plugins>corona>bitmap - then select the texture map you want to use
