Has anyone tried Splashtop Remote Access?

Moonlight + Sunshine = bye lag :)Isn't That just for games?
Parsec works fineThank you for the reply, have you tried others?
This is interesting, I wonder if it's Hardware related or software related (C4D).This is interesting, is it just C4D or Max also?
Hey,
Can't say about Max. Only been using C4D since the beginning.
But the difference is truly insane between V9, which seems to have been the fastest of all.
Seems like each never version has gotten just slower and slower (at least for me on M1 MAX 64GB + C4D R26).
What makes 0 sense to me is the fact that the rays are significantly higher while render times are twice as long.
I just can't understand as to why this could happen, it's soo soo frustrating :(
And seeing that this has been an issue for the past 3 versions doesn't really fill me with much hope.
It clearly has to be corona related. I'm always reading to send scenes, benchmarks etc. but to my common sense, it shouldn't really matter what kind of CPU, m1 pro, ram whatnot i am using. The fact that I am rendering the same scene 1:1 with different version on the same machine and getting such crazy different results is just insane.
At the end of the day I have such a busy schedule and the only thing that matters to me in my work is how fast I can render "X" scene and would be nice to take advantage of newer Corona versions with all its nice features without having to compromise for 2x the render times.
Let's see if anyone has found any solution or if we can get any deeper insight.
Cheers,
Habber
I am using Max 2024 and use Miauu's importer script. A critical step for me though is that I save down to V8 in sketchup first because that pushed the script to use the legacy importer which was still buried somewhere in Max. I do not necessarily get all lines, though, depending on how the SU is modeled. But there is no Sketchup legacy importer in 2024, even if you use a script like Miauu's. His script still uses the new Sketchup importer which is garbage since the legacy has been removed from Max. The old one you will get all the line work, the new importer decides what it wants for you, deletes your linework. Max 2023 still had the old importer when you select import and then select Sketchup legacy importer in the dropdown menu. We need a 3rd party now that has made it's own importer for sketchup, that's what I'm trying to find.
Here's what I find in the Autodesk help file and I don't think 2024 is any different...I am using 2024 with similar results to what I was getting in 23, 22, etc...YMMV but might be worth a try if you are at a dead end.
Note: This importer is deprecated as of 3ds Max 2020.2 Update, and may be removed in a future release. It is replaced by the ATF-based ATF_SKETCHUP_Import importer. Since the new importer is the default for .skp files, you need to specify this importer with the using keyword parameter to importFile().
The VFB is getting rewritten for Corona 12, yes.Is Corona going to use Qt for the SME and materials?
I tested Corona vs V-Ray and found V-Ray to be much faster working with materials and with IR and stuff. That's because V-Ray moved everything to Qt correct? Is Corona going to move to Qt?Hi guys,
Got my 7980X machine. it's really is a beast!
Just one thing I noticed is that it is less workable during IR compare to my old machine which is Ryzen 9 5950X. when I say less workable it is difficult to tweak materials, move object and update objects while on IR.
I understand that in IR it uses the whole CPU, but it is just different experience in 5950X. Anyone experience this?
Here's my specs :
CPU: 7980X
MOBO: Gigabyte TRX50 AERO D rev.1.0
RAM: Kingston 256GB 5600MT/s
GPU: ASUS RTX 4060 OC
PSU: ASUS Aura edition 1200W 80+ Gold
Hmm I don't really think there should be much of a difference. Do you think you could disable SMT and give it a try? Wonder if that would help.
Also, kudos on the beastly machine!!
Do not use Enermax, they've been known for issues generation after generation with their liquid AIO and bad fluid. You have two great options from Silverstone for that processor. Just make sure you go with a 360 mm rad.I know a lot about children bicycles though.
Heh, I know the feeling.
Thanks again. My PC guy is updating the components list faster than I can keep up with. Please see latest, any red flags? Still a RAM mismatch?
Have done a few tests..and by knocking out Corona Layered mat, the 64 core machines pull away and out perform the 3970x 32core machines. Interesting to say the least.Huh, that is interesting finding.
