Was just watching the Chaos Unboxed presentation. Lots of interesting stuff coming. Since this thread is about Vantage, they also showed Enscape, which to the uneducated eye, seems somewhat similar to Vantage.

The Cosmos a.i. material generator would be amazing if it produces truly usable materials.

Very interesting. So the quality is very good in Vantage, but not production quality. It seems like a condensed version of Unreal Engine. Not sure I will need it in the future, but good to know it might be there at some point.

So the big thing is adding GPU tech to a CPU render engine. Interesting. Sounds like Unreal Engine. I would also assume that Mac users might not be able to take advantage of this tech. Not Chaos' fault, just stating the obvious. Thanks for the info.

I keep seeing mentions of Chaos Vantage, but never knew what it was. I watched part of a Chaos video and the main feature, from what I saw, was real-time (or close to it) previews. Isn't that one of the great features of Corona and V-ray, and Octane and Redshift for that matter? We have ability to have good real-time previews and updates as you work. Why  is Vantage needed if the engines already provide a similar function?

This post doesn't make any sense to me. You are rendering a sequence with PNG+alpha as the output. That is all you need in this case.

You do NOT need the Multipass function or the Save as PSD option at all. You are not rendering any extra passes so why would you turn it on? The only time I've used multipass with a simple alpha is sometimes, when rendering objects with glass, you don't always get the proper mask with different levels of transparency/refraction.

I don't mean to sound insulting, but I would expect this post to come from a newer user and not someone that has rendered over 2,000 jobs on a render farm.

So I'm exploring some materials in the Cosmos browser. Oh, here's a nice looking asphalt material, let's take a look. I hit download. Perfect. When I click import, it says "You need Vray and Vantage". What is that all about? Why am I being served Vray materials in Corona? So far, I've only found two, but am surprised. Is this a mistake or is their a filter to only show me Corona-compatible materials?

Thanks for the info. Yes, I did discover the indoor close-to-the-camera issue with Dome mapping. Recently, I had to show some 3D capabilities and didn't have much time, so I tried the dome mapping feature. Once you figure out the scale and height, it was pretty quick to set up a shot. I was also impressed how good it looked when I did a simple orbit camera move. Really sold the idea of a 3D space.

Just got back to this. Ah it is a command in the Corona Proxy palette. Good to know. Thanks.

I don't have the current version of C4D, but I have used the Takes system quite a bit. I noticed your paths are Relative. Could it be there is a different default in the newer versions of C4D? Is there a default setting that is expecting an Absolute path? The only other thing is I don't remember seeing brackets when using the Tokens. Is that a thing? [  ]

Any time I export a render from the VFB, the text will be cut off at the bottom. Sometimes more than this example. I can usually still see the words enough to continue, but sometimes not.

I'm making a small restaurant mockup. I setup some basic tables and chairs. There are some scaling issues in this scene due to some LiDAR scanning, so the scale of the chairs was huge. I converted them to mesh and they reappeared in the viewport. They did NOT appear in any render however. When you convert some models, Cosmos included, sometimes it makes some sort of parent object and a child. You can't select anything on the parent and it has the material on it. I don't understand how that works.

So, I merged those two pieces of the chair into one mesh. Boom. Everything appears and renders as expected. Render Instances or Multi-Instance don't affect this issue.

Since this sample scene is so small, I've attached it directly here. This scene is new and there are no scene scaling issues.
