Hi, I'm working on typical villa exterior archviz scene and have some problems with parsing times.

The scene is setup with animated sun so that in each frame i have different sun positions for different cameras.
Everything works ok until vegetation proxys are added in scene. Parsing times are around 2 seconds on frame 0 but as soon as I change to any other frame parsing time jumps to 30 seconds or more depending on total number of different proxies.

So I tested this in new scene. I used simple white environment and a subdivided box to act as a high poly vegetation, no materials, textures, lights.
The results are in attached image, it makes no difference if proxy animation is enabled or not.
Another thing I noticed is that if you change some parameters on proxy object on for example frame 5 than that frame renders with fast parsing time and all other frames including 0 have longer parsing times.

According to all this to keep parsing times lower it's best not to use proxies or to use them without keep in memory option active.... this is a bit counter-intuitive

Similar thing is discussed here: https://forum.corona-renderer.com/index.php?topic=14716.0
The suggestion is to keep proxy animation disabled but this makes no difference in my test.

So I'm not sure if this is maybe a bug or just the way max works, maybe someone with more knowledge could explain this further.
I'm using Corona 5. Scene is tested in max 2018, max 2020 and on i7, xeon and threadripper machines.
Thanks

Great, hope you'll find a solution for this.
I know it doesn't seem like a big deal bit it gets really annoying to wait 30 seconds (or more depending on number of proxies) every time you start IR.
It just slows down workflow or builds up rendering time with animations.
Thanks!

Thanks!

Hi,

Unfortunately we didn't manage to address this in v6. We are aware of the issue though, I will do my best to update you when I have some more information.

Thanks,

Rowan

Hello Marijan
I used to have the same workflow using animated sun and I've faced the same problem connected with proxies as you did. I've reported about this issue in 2017
https://forum.corona-renderer.com/index.php?topic=14716.msg93782#msg93782
but unfortunately this problem is not solved still...

Lucky me - I don't work on animation, so I just change my workflow a bit and don't use animated sun anymore (sad...), but I suppose the ones who have to work on animation are suffering really much of this problem. Actually it's not clear for me why this problem somehow forgotten during pretty long time

Anyway, in my old post there is a script published by iancamarillo which disables animation from all selected proxies. Maybe it could help you

Hey Bormax thanks for reply,

I tried disabling proxies animation but didn't help much.
In the meantime I also changed my workflow, so for still images it's ok but problem is still there when rendering animations.

I have also noticed people complaining about corona proxy with Itoo Forest, maybe this is somehow connected.

Hi everyone, as of the latest public daily of 2021-11-05, this issue with parsing times is addressed and should no longer be reproducible.
Please feel free to test it out and share your feedback with us, the latest DB can be found here: https://forum.corona-renderer.com/index.php?topic=33839.msg191656#msg191656
