Why exactly do you need to control an object's visibility in this case?

Currently this is the expected behavior. Visibility only affects the object's surface.

@doillo ^could you please try that as well?
Thanks in advance!

(continuing by email)

The original issue should be actually fixed in the newest V8 daily build:
Could you please give it a go and / or send us your scene for testing?
If you are fine with that, please upload your scene here and let me know once done:

Thanks for reporting, but I am not sure where exactly we should look. Is there some performance issue? Can you try rendering the same scene with the same region in Corona 6 and 7 and see if there is some difference?

In your current screenshots it looks like you are comparing two different scenes, so I am not sure how to understand this.

Also, are you using some kind of render limit? If so, what limit is it? (pass, time, or noise limit?)

Lastly, it looks like you uploaded the same image twice (unless I can't spot the difference).

How about V-Ray fur support in Corona then? Sounds reasonable?

(Report ID=CRMAX-943)

Do you mean the sharp lines between the good quality and very noisy lighting?
If that's the case, are you using LightMix here, or some other render element?

I am guessing that what we see here is the result of using the adaptive light solver. To disable it and get more uniform results you can go to Render Setup > Performance and disable the "Adaptive light solver" option at the top.
This will most likely result in slower rendering, though. Even with the adaptive light solver enabled, you should be able to get good quality renders if you wait a bit longer.

[Max] Daily Builds / Re: Phoenix Smoke Color Version 8
« on: 2021-09-21, 17:22:19 »
Sorry, maybe I am missing something, but what is the expected result here?
Even if we set smoke color to "white", it may appear in any shade of gray or even black because of absorption. The white light will be simply absorbed sooner or later.

Are you trying to create very bright smoke effect like steam, clouds?

The captcha issue is reproduced and reported to Freshdesk.

...but it is probably not optimal, so if you can provide a simple scene where it's happening, we may be able to find a solution :)

This probably means that we are able to somehow estimate motion blur based on the provided information, but it may fail in some other cases.
Something similar happens with volume grids (we probably can't talk about changing "topology" here) - a different volume grid file is loaded per frame, but we can get correct motion blur from that.

As far as I understand the point of this thread is that this is not working as expected with Anima people, so we should contact them and try to fix it. :)

[Max] I need help! / Re: Box license w subscription Inquiry
« on: 2021-09-20, 17:30:42 »
Hi, please note that we only offer the Box license in very specific cases, usually where the user cannot use the FairSaaS license for some solid reason - for example they are a government organization and are prohibited from using subscription-based products. In all other cases, we highly recommend using the FairSaaS license. It is much more flexible and does not have the restrictions of the Box license.

If I avail the box license with subscription of 99 euro a year, can I skip my yearly subcription (like skip for 3 years) and pay again if I want to upgrade to the new version that I like?
You can buy Box with subscription or Box without subscription.
If you buy Box with subscription and then cancel the subscription, then you cannot restart that subscription any more because it can only be bought with the Box license.
- No, the subscription is bound to the serial number at the time of purchase."

Will the renderer still work thru these years that I'll not be subscribing? Or I have no choice but to continue the yearly subscription?
The renderer will keep working even with the subscription disabled, however you will be locked to a specific version of Corona. Without an active subscription you will not be able to update Corona to a newer version.

Just remember that highlight clamping disables high dynamic range in your output, for example if you are planning to save your frames into a 32-bit format. See:

[Max] I need help! / Re: Mesh/UVW or Material problem
« on: 2021-09-20, 17:03:19 »
Does this material look different in other renderers, even just Scanline? Maybe the UVW mapping itself is done like this.

It seems that those seams are appearing in places where there are some geometry edges or other objects in place. Could it be related?
If you are using displacement in this material, you can also try subdividing the mesh. Otherwise it may get pushed a little bit in the direction of the normals, which may result in some overall deformation. (compare a simple box object with displacement and no tessellation and with tessellation).
