Corona Tone Mapping Wrapper
for 3ds Max Script (Maxscript)

Hello all, this is a wrapper for new Corona Renderer 8 (and upper versions) tone mapping for maxscrip which is a not easy to work with. So, here is my 3ds Max scrip codes to make it easier for others to use this new feature.

Features
- Delete all tone mapping operators
- Get all tone mapping operators and their IDs as an array
- Get the IDs of all tone mapping operators
- Get all tone mapping operators
- Generate a unique random ID that does not exist in the current operators' list
- Get operators' class using its place on tone mapping list
- Get operators' using its place on tone mapping list
- Specify whether the operators' list is empty or not (true or false)
- Delete last operator
- Add operator as last one
- Add operator to a specific place on the list
- Delete operator to a specific place on the list

This render was created as part of my pre-recorded video tutorial series regarding Product rendering about Corona renderer from zero to hero called "Corona College" which is in Persian language.
Everything created with 3ds Max and Corona renderer 8  and Photoshop used only to export for web ;)

Here is two of my OSL shaders for converting Color Temperature in Kelvin to RGB color (in both linear and sRGB).

One of the shaders is based on original version of Tanner Helland algorithm and the other one is based on improved version of it by Neil Bartlett.

The improved version is quite accurate by my comparison with raw data color provided by  Mitchell Charity

These two shaders originally intended for 3ds Max and work with Corona and V-Ray and other engines that support native 3ds Max OSL Map but they might work blender as well. (maybe with a little bit of modification)

Hello everybody,

This is a quick and little 3ds Max script which save my time everyday by putting corona converter 1.45 (corona 6 converter) in quad menu next to new corona converter to use both in case you need it.   

Installation:
Just extract the zip file you download then drag and drop the MZP file on 3ds Max viewport or run this file from Scripting > Run Script... menu of 3ds Max and then click on "Add Legacy Corona Converter to Quad Menu" button. That's it.

The credit of corona converter goes to Corona Renderer team and Martin Geupel which originally create it. I just make and installation for using it along side of new corona converter in corona 7+.

Convert Specular to IOR
Hi all, I am here with another free tool that I have created and wanted to share with you guys. It may be useful for somebody.

What does it do?
This little command-line program makes it easy to convert Specular to IOR using a well-known formula that has been used in the CGI community and apps through these years.

How to use it?
This is a portable stand-alone program. so just run the converter EXE file. Then, select the specular map you want and let the conversion process complete.
The output IOR texture will be saved in the same directory of the Specular map with the same resolution and same file type as well.

I recently installed the 3ds Max 2022 which is super awesome but I found some strange problem with the bridge 3dsMax plugin. so I fix it. Hope it useful for somebody.

the zip file contains 3 files and a pdf as a guide. read it before doing anything.

Hotfix for:

bridge issue with 3ds Max 2022 (issue caused by calling the wrong function for creating toolbar in 3ds Max – fixed by Mohammadreza Mohseni with adding one simple line of code in py)
and

Corona displacement issue (fixed by Quixel team - shared on Corona Renderer forum)

Instructions:
  • Make sure 3ds Max is closed then Download the 3ds Max plugin using Quixel Bridge
    Copy and replace both two file in “fix” Folder provided < MS_API.py and MSCoronaSetup.py > form below link to:
    < [ Quixel Bridge Library Address ]\support\plugins\max\5.0\MSLiveLink >
  • Open < Quixel.ms > with notepad and replace [Library Path] with the actual bridge library path.
    For example: python.ExecuteFile @"G:\Megascans\support\plugins\max\5.0\MSLiveLink\MS_API.py"
  • Copy < Quixel.ms > file to startup user script folder which is usually:
    < %localappdata%\Autodesk\3dsMax\2022 - 64bit\ENU\scripts\startup >
  • Start the 3ds Max and use bridge like always.

This script can make your life a little bit easier by setting up the HDR lighting for Corona it will work with Corona 2 up to 5 or higher

Features:
-Create a camera from the viewport
-Set color direction (0 to 360)
-Make HDR warmer or colder
-"Warmer and colder" function will work only in Corona 4 or higher
