See image of asset I'm working on. I can't see anyone else reporting this issue. I did see one thread but it's marked as inactive. Found: https://forum.corona-renderer.com/index.php/topic,2619.msg19883.html#msg19883

This issue becomes more troublesome the closer you get to the objects corners. I can send a max file to https://corona-renderer.com/upload/ for a test scene. The reflection pass is where the trouble lies.

BTW What is the preferred maximum for the samples for round corners?

I'm avoiding to use rounded corner feature on materials with high specularity, because it's really hard to get rid of fireflies otherwise.

Albedo is at 186RGB at those corners. Kinda strange this is happening.

I'll go with your method. Thanks.

Do you still think there is a bug? Rounded corners will be probably always very noisy for highly specular materials, because of the way they are computed.

No, just a bug with the rounded corners on highly specular mats regardless of the amount of samples used. I have tried 99 in my testing with tessilated mesh and still got issues. Do you want this scene to test with?

no... this is just limitation of the rounded corners method used - it produces noisy normals, that will cause problems with mirror materials.

Thanks for clarifying this. Thank goodness for the chamfer modifier :]
