After trying z-brush for the 1st time, I have used my fresh knowledge to create retro futuristic helmet on a greek marmor bust. I was very happy about the level of detail I was able to put into the model in form of normal and displacement maps. Corona added  beautiful reflections which come from simple bitmaps i drew quickly in psd and placed around the helmet to mimic spaceship cabin.

"Spaceship Theodorus of the Planet Earth", imaginary alternative history spaceship and the colourful buttons from Space Odyssey 2001 were two main visual inspirations used for the following retro-futuristic compositions.

yes Tanakov, I agree bench mapping is the weaker part of the composition. Will do better job next time.

Thank you for compliments, especially considering this is my first dive into photorealistic images.

I guess the biggest secret about textures is to invest into high-res bitmaps. All textures come from www.textures.com and I purchased highest resolution available. For the lights, I have used corona sun for main illumination, on some scenes there are some dimm fake lights behind the camera to provide for additional lighting. Since the interiors are very simple I was able to invest time into setting up the light instead.

The first picture with the entrance has a "fake cloud" which dims the beginning of the entrance and some of the grass field on the right side. This was to invoke what I would call Dutch paintings atmosphere of partly cloudy landscape with high contrast of shadows and light. I was lucky to find a background sky to match this atmosphere. The bitmap comes from flyingarchitecture.com

This is actually very nice composition, floor and sink being my favourite. To what extend have you used reference built design and you designed yourself?
On the first picture there is light behind the framed poster that is placed on the table. Do you think enough light would refract through it?

I would like to present set of 3D shots of un-built catholic crematorium designed by Peruvian architect Miguel López Solís. Due to the intriguing use of exposed concrete and light openings I have immediately thought of Hélène Binet´s black and white architectural photos of Peter Zumthor's buildings. Desaturation puts more focus on the concrete texture and reflections of materials.

Kindly,
Daniel

[Max] I need help! / Re: light difference
« on: 2016-10-24, 02:33:25 »
Ok, i guess i got it solved. The problem seems to have been the artificial cloud i have placed above the concrete tunnel. to throw a soft shadow i have used ambient occlusion as opacity map. I threw this map away und used vertex painting instead and now it works charmingly.

Hi guys,
I have had some great time rendering interiors with corona PT+uhd
As I now need to render outside picture with many instances I chose pt+pt. I found out that it is very different and weird than uhd cache. the only change is the secondary engine alle lights and mats are the same.

I would be very greatful for hints.
