I wonder what do people use for viewing and/or basic editing of HDRI/EXR files? I use Picturenaut for viewing, but it's super outdated and it would be nice to have something more recent and maybe more capable for that. As for the editing, my situation is even worse, i have Affinity Photo, but i never managed to get something useful with it. It has tools for editing, but for some reason it can't save HDRIs properly - i always end up with ruined HDRI files from Affinity. Admittedly i don't use HDRIs often, but once or twice a year i need to make some basic edits and i always struggle with that, so i would gladly listen if anyone has to share their experience.

I found that i can't navigate to materials>general when active renderer is set to scanline as it would crash 3ds Max, however if active renderer is set to Corona, the same operation works just fine. Not sure if it actually has anything to do with Corona, but i have no other 3rd party renderers installed on that Max instance. I wonder if anyone else is able to reproduce this on their side? 3ds Max 2024.2, Corona 12 update 1

There's an issue with Corona colour correct node. It seems that it clamps data that is going through it. See the video for details.

Aspect ratio lock and fit to assigned mtl button does not work very well in Corona decals. See the video for more details. I think the easiest solution to this would be to disable fit to bitmap and fit to assigned mtl buttons when aspect ratio lock is ON, the same as it's done in Corona bitmap.

[Max] Bug Reporting / Crashing with Vray materials

3ds Max 2024, Corona 12

3ds Max immediately crashes when a) active renderer is set to Corona and b) Vray material is being opened in slate material editor. Reproducible 100% on my end. I don't have Vray installed if that matters.

Update: compact material editor is affected by this issue as well.

It would be really nice if Corona edge map could work with Chaos scatter. Currently it does nothing when assigned as density or transformational map.

3ds Max 2024.1 Corona 10 HF2

If environment texture is loaded through Corona bitmap, then its filtering blur is affected by the extents of the scene. The issue is not present when environment is loaded through Max bitmap. Video and the simple scene are attached to the post.

When hide unused nodeslots is activated, an output handle is missing in Corona maps that were enhanced with multiple inputs / outputs. That makes work in slate editor unnecessarily frustrating.

When image is loaded with auto gamma in Corona bitmap, it displays incorrect in view image window. Fortunately this does not affect rendering in any way, but nonetheless it poses quite significant issue in my workflow. I hope to see this fixed in V11 dailies together with other Corona bitmap issues that was introduced in 3ds Max 2024

Please move save defaults from developments/experimental stuff rollout to systems settings window. I think it makes no sense to have it at its current location, not to mention that because of this it is impossible to save UI configuration where dev/experimental rollout would be hidden.

I don't like how with addition of multiple inputs certain Corona nodes became too fat. It would be really nice if you could make them slim again. And also additional request for corona triplanar - maybe it's worth to not show Y, Z inputs/outputs when "use map X for all axes" is selected. This would be especially useful when triplanar has more than one input/output.
