[Max] Resolved Feature Requests / Re: Dirt map?

Yup, we have:

AO map -
Curvature map -
Triplanar map (can be used to apply an effect only to the top/side of an object) -

Learner’s Corner / Re: old space

Moving to learner's corner as I am sure this can be improved. I suggest starting by fixing the stretched low-resolution textures. :)

(apart from replacing the batteries in the clocks)

Which version of Corona are you using?
In Render Setup > Scene you should see the NVIDIA denoiser, Intel denoiser, Corona HQ denoiser and "remove fireflies".

[Max] General Discussion / Re: Caustic artifacts

Hi, please check out "My caustics progressively disappear, there are black spots visible on my rendered caustics!" here:

...or try our newest daily build where this should be fixed (but please remember that daily builds are experimental and you should make backups of scenes before opening them with daily builds) -

Late update:
Slow parsing was expected in this case. The solution is to switch to "Embedded" or "External" proxy cache display method as explained here:

This may be helpful to Corona + RailClone users.

Two more questions:
- your objects scattered with Forest - are they using a material with displacement?
- your objects scattered with Forest - are they using a multi/sub material?

Are you by any chance rendering from an orthographic camera? If yes, then try switching to regular perspective mode.

There is also this:

1. Enable development/experimental stuff rollout -
2. Start rendering (regular render or IR)
3. Then (while still rendering) go to Render Setup > Performance > Development/experimental and click "Show memory report"

This is related to the way we are loading proxies. You can either get smooth viewport performance and this kind of flickering, or no flickering but slowdown/freezes in the viewport. We have this issue logged and we may be able to do something about it, but we can't promise anything at this point.
