[C4D] General Discussion / Phoenix simulations
« on: 2025-06-20, 11:46:55 »
Hi Guys,

I know it was been discussed some time ago, but I'd want to bring it up again. Would it be possible to import Pheonix simulations into Cinema 4D and render them using Corona? I have the Premium license, however I really miss this feature in Cinema. I do not want to switch to MAX simply for the simulations.
Please, anyone who uses Cinema, support this request.

Kind regards

[C4D] Bug Reporting / COSMOS - Connection refused
« on: 2025-06-02, 13:47:21 »
Hi Guys,

I have installed the most recent Corona version and am having difficulties launching Cosmos. I receive the message: CONNECTION REFUSED. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Thanks

Hi guys,

I'm using Cinema 2025, and when I want to save a PNG or TIFF image, I can't choose whether to save it in 8 or 16 bit format, or if I want to keep the alpha channel. This choice is not displayed, as the image is saved directly as 8bit with alpha. Nonetheless, it works fine in Cinema 2024. Did anyone else have the same issue?

Kind regards

Hi Guys,
When using Corona Sky with the VOLUME EFFECT ON, a glitch occurs in which a white background appears from around 60% of the image height. It cannot be overridden with the SCENE ENVIRONEMT option.
Did anyone else have the same problem?
Thank you for any reply.

Hi guys,

I had an imported STP model with several parts, including INSTANCES set to RENDER INSTANCE. When I activate MOTION BLUR in the options, some (or all) of the instances appear in the VFB render at random positions. When I set the instance mode of the INSTANCES to INSTANCE, the objects remained in their correct places.

Kind regards

[C4D] General Discussion / Cryptomatte pass for animation
« on: 2025-03-13, 15:08:41 »
Hi guys,

Is it feasible to save the Cryptomatte Pass for animation? It is stated that you must save it from VFB as CXR and alter the extension to EXR. Well, it works for stills, but what about animation? I tried saving a few frames as EXR, but it did not work.
Any suggestions?

Thank you

[C4D] Bug Reporting / Scene still parsing
« on: 2025-03-12, 16:15:20 »
Hi guys,

When I modify the material or adjust some light parameters in the lightmix window, the scene begins to parse. Is it normal? When a scene is large enough, it can take a long time to parse. I am spending more time waiting than working.
Any idea what's causing this? I use the latest CORONA 13 daily build.

Kind regards

[C4D] General Discussion / Randomizer issues
« on: 2025-03-05, 11:00:31 »
Hello, folks.

I tested the functionality of the shader RANDOMIZER. First of all, I read somewhere that it works even when the material tag is set to CUBIC mapping. Well, that does not work for me. When I switched the mapping to UVW, it worked. It worked, but it could have performed better. I've set the randomizer to randomize depending on the MATERIAL NAME. Then I clicked RANDOMIZE EACH TILE and set the number of tiles to 3. Even with the BLENDING set to 0.25, I could still see the sharp edges of the tiled textures. So I turned off and on the blending and discovered that it just blends the tiles' borders, not the repeating texture within the tile. It would be ideal if the texture inside each tile could be blended as well, eliminating the stark noticeable edges.
Maybe I did something incorrectly. Could someone check that I understand it correctly?

Thanks

Hi guys,

When I activate the SOLO mode on a MAPING RANDOMIZER with the "Number of tiles" set to 3, the 3D editor appears to ignore these adjustments. It shows the map as the "Number of tiles" is still set to 1. It would be wonderful to be able to view the changes in the 3D model immediately rather than having to wait for the render to reveal the correct texture sizes.

Kind regards

[C4D] General Discussion / Multiplied alpha
« on: 2025-01-23, 13:19:46 »
Hello, folks.
I'm rendering some packages, and I need to render the packages and shadows separately before composing them in Photoshop. I had an issue with the alpha on the package's edge. The anti-aliased edge does not keep the few pixels with alpha, but instead multiplies them immediately with the the white background. It causes the problem with the white edge shown in the photographs. Is there a method to store the few pixels with alpha so that I may insert any background behind the package without a white border?

Hi guys,

I'd like to clarify one point concerning denoising and restarting the last render or rendering from the CXR file. When I start Hi-Res rendering overnight and it is not finished the next morning and I stop the rendering, the denoising occurs, I save the CXR for later rendering, and then resume the rendering from the CXR later on, does the renering continue on the DENOISED image, or does it internally ignore the previous denoising action and continue the rendering on the image and denoise it when the render is complete, so the denoising occurs only ONCE as it should? If the process of denoising is repeated several times, we may lose some of the image's detail.

Thank you for the response.

[C4D] Bug Reporting / RENDER SELECTED doesn't save
« on: 2025-01-06, 08:54:27 »
Hello everyone,
I just wanted to render two objects in the scene. For this, I used the Corona render settings' RENDER SELECTED (Pixel mask) option. When the render was saved, all of the lighting-related pictures (final image, lightmix pass, and light passes) were black. The ID pass, for example, was saved properly. Is anyone else experiencing this problem? Is this just a problem on my end, or is it a Corona problem? I hope it's mine since we shouldn't have to deal with these bugs when we need to submit a project on deadline.
Thanks for any response.

[C4D] General Discussion / Saved color profile
« on: 2025-01-02, 16:18:19 »
Hello, folks.
The first issue was a slight difference in colors between the Corona VFB and the final render. I wouldn't mind if the difference was minor, but I had several rather huge fabric objects in the scene, and the texture differences were quite noticeable. So I discovered that changing the default frame buffer in preferences/Corona to Corona VFB preserves the colors saved in final renders. The issue is that the images have a LINEAR color profile.
Because of the wider gamut, my client has requested that I deliver/render it using the Adobe RGB 1998 color profile. Maxon support advised me how to save it using the Adobe RGB color profile. I downloaded the color profile and loaded it into Cinema's save settings. Unfortunately, the images are still saved in LINEAR color space (perhaps because the default framer buffer is set to Corona VFB). I can convert it to multiple color spaces in Photoshop, but I believe it is not the best method.
The second issue concerns the color profile of images saved directly from the VFB. I wanted to store a couple alternative lightings by adjusting the lights in the LIGHTMIX tab. When I save an image directly from the VFB, the resulting image uses the color profile of my monitor.
How can I save the images with Adobe RGB 1998 when the rendering is complete, and how can I store the images with the same color profile when I save them straight in the VFB by pressing the save button?

Hello, guys.

I'd like to know if it's normal for Corona to start parsing a scene while I merely change the light power or exposure in the POST tab of VFB. I'm not moving the light or any other objects. The scene is highly complex, and having to wait so regularly for parsing is time consuming.

Many thanks for your answers

[C4D] Bug Reporting / Blue Screen
« on: 2024-12-16, 11:16:02 »
Hello, guys.
I've been experiencing the well-known "BLUE SCREEN" on numerous occasions in recent weeks. Windows shuts off the entire PC. I'm not sure if this was caused by the latest Corona version (I get the blue screen when working in Corona) or by some silly Windows actualization. Has anyone else have this problem in the previous several weeks?
