Lates daily v10. I'll do some testing.

I just want to make clear that I'm referring to Scatter's Camera Clipping feature and not C4D's camera clipping that is only for the viewport.

Now I was making a top view to show what I'm saying, but then I noticed something I hadn't seen before. In the past, when I've used Camera Clipping, it cropped out the clones that were not visible by the camera. As you can see in my top view, it seems to be taking all the clones and jamming them into the visible area. Is that normal? I'm sure it's a setting, but I'm not an expert with the Scatter tool.

Looks really nice. The only question I have is the wide shot shows a red rose in a glass vase. It appears to be floating in mid-air. Perhaps there's a clear wall mount? Not sure.

To my eye, this looks fantastic and very believable as far as the rendering goes. At least in my brain, I'm used to seeing some sort of baseboard molding, but that could be a design choice. Curious what that seam is under the dining table?

Maybe I would add a little bit more reflection to the floor. Right now, it's extremely flat finish.

Gotcha. Did you turn on Camera Clipping? It is supposed to help avoid this type of situation by not rendering anything outside the camera's view.

Yes, it would be nice to have some feedback in the viewport, but isn't that what interactive rendering is for? Also, make sure you have good UVs on your models, or the Scanned materials get tricky to use.

To Pepelecrabb's point, imagine putting a glass of water outside on an overcast day. No sun. You will see very little to no caustics at all.

In my experience, most 3D apps use the RAM for loading all the textures for faster access. Is that not how Corona works? Are you saying you have 125 GB of textures?

50 foot ladder. That's a good one. Clearly not the type of shot that you would consider DoF though, but I see your point. A balance between looks and level of lens distortion.

One thing that makes these ARM chips faster in some ways, even when swapping between memory and the hard drive, is that the HD is a super-fast SSD and close by so you don't get as big of a hit as other systems with spinning drives. So if you have a 512 or 1 TB SSD, it's "almost" like having a ton of extra RAM (yes, I know RAM is usually faster). In the old days, people would partition large drives into smaller volumes for faster access or to keep one for cache files or swapping. One for applications, one for scratch, one for this, etc. Since today's drives are usually SSD, this might not matter too much anymore since this technique was to address the amount of time the drive head would take to search a massive drive to access items scattered all over.

I personally would like to keep working on Macs, but am a little nervous about Apple's issues with the scaling of the new chips. Fingers crossed that the M3 line will be a huge jump in power.

Nice. I will add that when thinking like a photographer, you need to NOT use the simple exposure settings, and enable Photographic Exposure. This will give you camera-like settings like ISO, Shutter and F-Stop.

I did a quick test using the Photographic Exposure route and a little more highlight compression. Sky and Sun are at 1, then the camera is adjusted accordingly. If that still doesn't cut it, then adjust the intensity of the Sky or Sun, although Corona strives to be real-world and, at least here in the U.S., I can't adjust the sun to my liking. :-)

I stopped this render at 22 minutes (25 passes) on my old iMac Pro 18-core. For some reason, it did not denoise, but it was going in a good direction. Probably would finish at 45 min. Curious how smooth denoise would have made this. Probably needs more that 25 passes even with denoise.

Helpful discussion.

The original issue for this thread has been resolved. I had to call the vendor and he determined the only way to fix this issue was to send me an e-mail with a special payment link. Not clear what caused the issue in the first place, but all good now.

[C4D] General Discussion / Problems Updating Payment Info
« on: 2023-01-17, 20:18:26 »
So I have already reached out via the help link on the 2Checkout page yeasterday. The responses are slow and my subscription is set to expire today so I'm posting here too without personal info.

The form refuses to take my new American Express card info. Keeps saying "Invalid Card Type." Their first advice today was simply to clear the cache and try again. Nothing. I replied, but I may not hear anything until tomorrow. There are three credit cards listed on the payment form, JCB, Carte Bleue and Dankort. That's it. Now I'm stuck.

Any advice on this?

In addition to the displacement sand texture, I might scatter some tiny stones over the sand to add to the effect.

Are you also new to Cinema 4D? Did you turn on the Alpha Channel option in the Render Settings?
