Just discovered that motion blur doesn't take into account CoronaSun's rotation. What's this, bug or feature request that no one needs?

It looks like animation of maps/bitmaps is not taken into account for motion blur. I can imagine situations where this could be useful.

Sunset/sunrise last few minutes. That means that sun moves the distance of 1 sundisk (0°0'42'' or 0.003% of the entire skydome) per few minutes. I cannot imagine any situation where you would want to simulate motion blur for this. So I wont be implementing this.

Well, i can. Imagine VFX shot of alien planet that is spinning around it's axis a lot faster than earth around it's own.

Or just using sun to simulate some fast moving but very distant orb that's illuminating the scene. It's for all sorts of scifi stuff.

BUT, if it's too hard to implement, then i really would not bother.

then you should probably use either CoronaLight, or 3dsmax directional light for added flexibility ;). CoronaSun is meant to simulate only Sun as seen from Earth, while being fast and simple to set up. But there is nothing in it that could not be recreated by other light types.

Just kidding. Seriously I was referring to texture motion blur. Imagine a character standing still with some glowing stuff moving over his armor. Or a spinning disk with moving lights on it. It's impossible to motion blur it now if using animated textures.

It could be useful if CoronaSun is chosen as moon substitute. I did few long exposures pictures under full moon where motion blured shadows are very prominent some years ago. Wanted to replicate it with CoronaSun and... oh well, if it's too complicated or potentially may brake up something, it's not worth an effort. Especially if it can be easily substitute with other lights.

That's why i didn't want to post it in a request topic ;]
