Would like to see better support of vector maps in Corona. Right now it's pretty weak.
I tested what works and what not with vector maps in CoronaMtl:

works as:
  diffuse
  reflection color
  refraction color
  opacity
  transucency fraction
  self illumination color
  absorption color
  scattering color

do not work as:
  reflection glossiness
  refraction glossiness
  translucency fraction
  anisotropy
  anisotropy rotation
  fresnel ior
  ior
  bump
  displacement
  rounded corner radius

I also checked how mental ray supports vector maps. It works everywhere except for bump mapping.
I'm not Corona Team member. Everything i say, is my personal opinion only.

I think they should be supported everywhere, even in bump if it's possible. Actually I'd like to be able to use vectors especially for bump maps.

What is a vector map? How would a vector map work for example in reflect glossiness or IOR?

It is a map intended to accept vector image formats, like ai or svg. It was introduced in max 2014.

For me, the main advantages are file size and 'unlimited' resolution, which make vectors very interesting for bump and displacement imo.

It actually works, it just has a moronic default value - its mono output is set to alpha. If you switch it to RGB intensity, it works.
