I'm pretty sure it's just incorrect floor material. There's no need for AO in corona.
I'm not Corona Team member. Everything i say, is my personal opinion only.

Translucency for floor? That explains lack of contact shadows, i think.

yes...your floor material is not correct.
Do not apply translucency.
apply texture on diffuse map with .7 level. and for good reflection on floor, apply falloff on reflection. and apply noise on bump with small value.
