Hi,

I'm trying the new Gaussian Splats features with the scenes from the original paper, but I don't get the expected result. I tried the small and large model for each scene with the quality setting cranked to the max:

bicycle - 30K iterations

counter - 30K iterations

Also :

- the default wire bounding box display mode is really not useful, could you change it for the point cloud mode with a low quality setting ( even 5% is enough to work with ) ?
- the models are loaded with an arbitrary orientation, I don't know if the GS feature allow to set a default orientation for the model but it would be really nice to have

Thanks

We are planning some improvements to Gaussian Splats so hopefully in the next build they will work better.

Regarding the orientation - it seems that there is no single standard defining which axis is the up one. Different splats may load completely differently.

There is currently a bug resulting in the Splats rendering in a different position than what you see in the viewport. I think this is why your results looks so weird. This is already reported as (Report ID=CC4D-1159).
