Hi guys..
I am starting to enjoying 3D render. Is there a possible and not too complex way to achieve this lighting and mood like in the sample?
My result is kind of bad. Your feedback is much appriciated. thanks.

Majority of imagery is directed so first take a lesson and look at How a Professional Cinematographer Lights a Simple Scene (~45 min)

...

Now back to the image you wish to mimic and relax. Take your time, free your mind and simply just observe... travel around the image to get the broader perspective. Then slowly focus on the light and shadows. You'll soon notice similarities, double sharper shadows, telling you there are couple of light sources differing in size, intensity, color and angle coming from the right side.

Next, check the reflections. The diffused on the chair, pottery and the clear one in the glass of a picture frame - there are dark shelves and a warm/ creamy curtain, obstructing the window in the back.

Draw a floor plan as you imagine the place to be like and mark probable locations of emitters, diffusers, bouncers and obstructions you notice (as you can see in the article linked above).

To precisely reverse engineer learn about descriptive geometry

Might be an overkill for now but anyways...
Have fun experimenting, exploring and discovering what creation is made of. ;)

PS
Or to make it as easy as possible - use similar Image Based Lighting (HDRI) and be done with it.
:D
