Any suggestions ? I was going trough the latest hardware and i can't decide which to pick. Should i go with intel or ryzen. If someone has the time please write me down a pc configuration within the budget which will work best with corona.

If you aren't in extreme hurry, wait until November.

For 3K you will be able to choose:

1) Ryzen 3950X 16-core, or maybe, just maybe, even 24-core Threadripper.
2) Intel will discount its HEDT x299 platform by 50perc. because it's inferior to Threadripper. It will have the same performance as top Ryzens, but offer quad-channel memory and the benefits of larger HEDT platform.

Right now it's not good time to buy anything off-the-shell unless you find very good discount on 2xxx Threadripper (like 50perc.).

2950X is not a good buy at 850 Euro right now, since 3950X which will have similar MSRP is on par with 2970WX (but slower in multi-threaded than 2990WX).

2XXX generation will get big discounts. I just bought brand-new 2990WX for 900 Euro (from 2000 msrp). These sorts of deal will emerge a lot.

Hi guys,
I have a similar question and I'm waiting for the new Intel i9 to upgrade one of the workstation of my studio, but I'm also looking for good offert for 2xxx generation of Threadripper.
Juraj, if it isn't against the forum's rules, can you share the shop where you find the 2990WX at that price? I'm not able to find that under 1900 Euro.
Thank you very much

Basically "local" (intra-country) versions of "ebay" :- ). They are full of people who lack the language, skill or patience to sell internationally. So they need to set much more realistic prices.

People selling 2990WX for msrp right now are delusional, Threadripper 3XXX will absolutely erase their value and they are around corner (November 5th reveal, 19th release of the 24, maybe 32c versions).
With the price slash of Intel's X299, prices of current generation will go heavily down.

Look at 1950X, no one is buying them even for peanuts, halo products like 2990WX go last because sellers are reluctant to do slash of such part of price but will be forced to do so. For majority of people, Ryzen 9 3950X will be better buy than 2990WX and that will be what, 800 Euro chip?

Thank you Juraj, you're absolutely right, the best choice is wait and see what will happend with new generation.
