What are the main differences between the CoronaLayeredMtl compared to the General Blend Material? For example, in an official Corona tutorial describing car paint shaders, the tutorial uses Blend Materials, but is there an advantage to using Blend materials vs. CoronaLayeredMtl?

If you're blending only two materials, then there's not much difference between the two, but when you need to blend more materials, Corona layered is much more convenient, because you don't need to nest multiple blends.

regarding the tutorial, i think it was written when there was no such thing as Corona layered material and the only option was to use native blend (or multiple nested blends).
I'm not Corona Team member. Everything i say, is my personal opinion only.
