Hi, I understand this issue was raised a few years ago and am wondering if there was a workaround developed or whether this is still planned to be 'fixed' (as I believe this is all pretty hacky anyway).

Issue being: HDRI map inside Reflection Override creates heavy firefly noise in the image despite low noise level overall and denoising enabled. Image example below

Yeah, this is reported from time to time, but sadly we don't have any solution or reliable workaround yet. I have recently bumped this issue in our internal tracker, so we can only hope that it will be addressed asap.
One idea is to use LDR images for the override (like .jpg), or to avoid using reflections override when possible. :(

Oh yes, this issue is really frustrating.. For example, having Corona Sun + Sky setup, and an HDRi on overrides would be really wonderful for getting full control over the scene lighting, without photoshop manipulations with sky backgrounds and reflections (especially in animation :)
Hope it can be fixed soon !
