Latest beta 2 (from April 19), C4D 19.053, Win 10

Try to render the attached scene (editor, pv). "Preparing scene data" will never get finished. If you click somewhere into the GUI, C4D will be marked "Inactive" in task manager and keep hanging, with full CPU power drawn.
Switch off detailing and the rendering should begin immediately.

With B1 rc4 (this one I had still lying about), this does not happen, so it is something introduced with B2.

A remark:
In the full scene, disabling "Detailing" does not help either, the scene will prepare forever and set C4D as "Inactive" as soon as I try to do something in the scene.
Still no problem with B1.

Windows 10, dual Xeon machine, R19, latest daily; the Preparing Scene Data does take forever (well, I gave up after waiting 10 minutes, so it may not actually take forever ;) ). For me, C4D didn't become inactive, even after clicking on the UI - it remained taking 100% CPU in the Task Manager. I did have to kill it in the Task Manager though. Turning off Detailing didn't seem to make any difference (I didn't wait as long that time around though, just a minute or so).

The taskmanager shows the task as "inactive", CPU stays at close to 100%. Have you tried with a B1? Should cut through the scene like butter.
And if you would not have killed the task, it would have taken forever. Just try it, I'll be waiting here ;)

I tried to render your file also. Even after 40mins it still hadn't started. Pretty odd.

Could you try with a B1? Should be starting after a second or two.
