Hey there,
Maybe somebody can assist me here. I have a big catalog (automotive) to render. The renders were all setup in corona. Issue I am having is rendering the catalog haha. The image sizes are roughly 10k+ (Car doesn't fill full frame, but image had to be this big so I can replace stand in vehicle with proper lens distortion)
When I send it to the farm we only have 1 computer that can render the job. Our average computer has about 16gb ram. The one that does render it has 64. Is this a ram issue thats limiting the rendering or could it be something else?

And input or advice would be great. 3D files are about 2gb each. I cannot proxy because it breaks the normals in the cad data so I have to use the mesh.

Please and thanks!

This does sound like a RAM issue. Aren't you getting any error messages from Corona? Such as "system is running low on RAM"?

Are you using displacement here?
Are you using multiple render elements? Maybe LightMix?

What you could try is going to devel/debug settings (https://coronarenderer.freshdesk.com/support/solutions/articles/12000021288) and then checking the "low mem" option. This will probably slow down rendering by about 5%, but will conserve memory.

A workaround which comes to my mind is simply rendering in lower resolution and then enlarging the image in post...

PS. Proxies don't really save RAM in any way, but if you would like to use them, you can convert the Max mesh into proxies, right?

The low mem option sounds like it would save me, where can I find this option? I don't see it under Corona System Settings?
Thanks in advance!

No disp or anything, just high res images :(

Just take a look at the guide I linked in my previous post. ;) First you have to enable the devel/debug options, and then you have to go to Performance tab, and find that option.

if you have a farm set up, i've only used backburner but i imagine all the managers can do this, you could try strip rendering the images? split them into 4 pieces or more and render them that way. Might help the machines with less RAM.
