Hey there guys, so after a few years working with vray its time to try something new, and Corona can REALLY deliver great results!

Thanks to the help of Mr Dead Clown, after my issues with the conversion of the materials, i was able to try doing some work.

So this is an old scene converted, just trying out without much modifications.

I'm currently working on a 3.4 GHz Intel Core i7, with 24 GB 1600 MHz DDR3.

I was not after great rendering times, just wanted to see how far could the render go, so i left it working over night: almost 14 hours and 1175 passes. Since this was made at work, this is normally the way i do rendering, over night. So i can count with noiseless renderings, as i can see!

Its a 1800 x 1200 px, with primary engine PT with 32 samples and secondary engine HD cache with 512 samples. I'm not quite sure about these values, but i enjoyed the final result.

There is only Corona Sky on environment for lighting, with a Corona sun and a IES light on the lamp. Post work in photoshop, just the usual level and color balance adjustments, and some sharpening.

Comments are much appreciated, as well as suggestions, i'm here to learn with the pro's =)

Cheers,

Gabriel

I'm not a pro but:
-there is no need to set PT samples so high, it doesn't matter if you have so much time but it's unnecessary
-floor texture looks really ugly
-most bump maps are too strong or too sharp and look unnatural
-lighting is too uniform
-bad UVW on bedsheets

I would recommend rendering the same scene with PT+HD at default values.

yep, i know, as i said it was just a test render, did't loose too much time with some details... i can't loose too much time at work, 3D is just a part of the processe here, so i can't give the time i would like to give to 3D =P

- okei, PT and HD values lower at default
- when i have the time i use the floor generator script, but i don't have that kind of time... =/
- i usually exagerate on bump, and sharpness adjustments oh photoshop...!
- i don't know exacly how to make the light look better as some works i have seen around... that's why i'm waiting for Rawalanche tutorial scene =P
- need time (and skills) to work on the bedsheets, i used uvw mapping, the box item, and it kept getting that bad texturing on the corners...

Thanks anyway! Just starting! =)
