It sounds like Multiscatter is the better technical choice for CORONA... ?

Nice, seems like people have the leaf shaders figured out lately ;). But the postproduction blur is... weird

@keymaster/anyone who understands - ive seen many instances where artists like to play with DOF in animations.....i tried animating DOF and bokeh in corona but it didn't work. Is that feature possible within corona yet? or how else can one go about it with corona without settling for post production trickery in video editing software's?
*Also, is the save and load sec.GI feature working with v5 bcos my max keeps crashing the moment i touch this option. is the fault from max or my corona version is corrupted?
Thanks.
Nice work Chris!

Looks like the only parameter of DOF you can animate in current version is camera target's distance. We have to wait for a dedicated camera object with more controls, which will be awesome. :)

For some reason I am unable to get 3dsmax to animate the controls in render settings dialog :(. Some renderers can do it, others cannot. Either way, dedicated camera will probably solve the problem ;)

YES! dedicated camera could even further simplify the render setting dialog box, hence taking off the dof/M blur dbox, some environmental settings, post production settings; then include atmospheric settings, vignetting, just to mention a few could be under the camera setup, making the C.camera a must use tool ;D ( however, pls try not to make it as elaborate as the vray cameras dbox)..... i wish you could make this happen in a week though cos i really need to use this feature now :(

I know it was already discussed 1000 times but another, probably even more important feature than camera is real units for light intensity to have realistic light bounces. This is somehow connected, lights in real units, camera's shutter speed and aperture. This would be perfect.

Not necessarily mindblowing...

All parts are "recycling stuff" and the animation could be a bit better and longer... I know.

I am totally convinced by CORONA.
At the moment I really would like to leave VRay behind.
CORONA delivers just perfect light, it is very fast and it is possible to use it after a ultra short learning period.
For animation counts a flickerfree setup and this is possbile without crappy pre cache ;-)

I LIKE!

I place my order now! :-)

Actual result with only a little bit standard post (cc, post DOF, vignetting):

Man this render is very realistic, speccially the vegetation, what is giving away the CG is the size of the catterpillar, it lloks like the size of a dog to me, I believe this is intentional, anyways as far as there is no debries animation beneth the animal as it moves, and the way it lifts up very fast, makes the shot a lot CG like, but the render is very nice in my opinion.

Esperamus top work, (but I too think those catepillars are oddly large :- D ),

mind asking, what range of translucency do you stay in your material for these leaves ?
