I use Max 2014. It has autoback folder where it stores some amount of backup files AutoBackup0x.max (you can choose in references amount of them). Max resave them one by one, for Max it doesn't matter do you work with one file or with another, it will just resave file with next number in a name of it. If you work with first file, and after that with second for some time, Max step by step will replace backups of the first file with buckups of second one.

I don't know about autosave in newer versions of Max...

am on max 2015, i see mine is saved as the max file name and a number behind it but will definately try autosave

well back on it again, will go back to a lower version, one that way good anyway, need corona for a few projects

seems like all the 1.4 versions for me are having the FTH issues, will have to go back to 1.3

i mean then you have errors in app you can check it there, maybe will be some clues what happening then you render and have that massages popup, on the left go to application logs and check, also maybe system errors check it too by time stamp. FTH log there too

think i found a fix, when i installed RP manager and restarted max, it said heap tolerance increased, please restart max to fix the error or something similar, and now i dont have the error popping up!
