I'd like that Corona would have the ability to turn off background image filtering. Max has such option in customize>preferences>rendering but it seems it doesn't work with Corona.
I'm not Corona Team member. Everything i say, is my personal opinion only.

You can use CoronaBitmap with filtering disabled. Or is this something different?

It's about image filtering, not texmap filtering.
I'm not Corona Team member. Everything i say, is my personal opinion only.

this is not possible in the current corona architecture, the filtering is done before the sample is cast - so we have no information whether it will hit environment or not
