Hello,

I've noticed that if i clic the middle mouse button to drag the view around in the material nodes editor it goes all over the place. It doesn't happen on latest redshift or Vray so it must be a Corona issue. Just reporting it, hope it's in the right place!

Edit,..! Somehow a restart fixed it! False alarm! abort! abort!haha!

Thank you!

Ok! Intresting find..

I've overclocked the two 2990WX's at a very modest 3,7GHz at all cores, using only 1.125V. Could go much higher, BUT! the interesting part is that at this speed I still get 37sec at Coronabench! And after an hour of rendering temps top at 51C!! So I thing for some reason lower volts are better with corona, don't ask me why..! At this temps I can't even hear the PC's! Also while rendering with all cores the PC is still super responsive. I need to add that I've updated to win10 1903, disabled control flow guard and added coreprio.

Thanx guys for the kind words.
I use all the cards mainly for Octane ( I also use Octane apart from Corona). I also use it for editing , Adobe etc many of these operations take advantage of the GPU’s. Also TFD ( fire smoke sim plugin for Cinema ) is many times faster on GPUs for solving sims. And of course the C4D viewport!
Any questions, hit me 🙂

PS, the initial rush from the performance boost is still here..! Can’t recommend this processor enough!

Here we go!
Finished these bad boys, really happy with the result!
2X  2990WX, 2850Ti x2, 64GB@2993 CL15

OC'ed at 4.1GHz, temps arround 65-67C at load RTX's at arround 45C!
For each PC:
Cinebench 15: 6225!
Corona 37 sec1
Octanebench 640, RTX On 1900!

Am I going to keep these settings? No.. I much prefer silence and better temps (65 max!)and an all core clock at 3.8 GHz, and single core at 4.2GHz which gives me the same Octanebench and a Cinebench of 5800. This way I can render all day. with both of them running on 10Gbit network Corona cleans up almost instantly for interior renders @ full HD for previews.
Super happy with the results and that I didn't wait for the next gen.

Multishader is awesome!! for me in the IR window the bumb mapping doesn't work, only if I hit normal render, then it renders fine. Also the scene parsing is really slow in IR but very fast for normal render!
Great work!

Yeah, thanx for the advice Juraj!

I’ll post some photos and benchmarks when they’re ready (~2 weeks maybe)
I know it maybe seems like rushing but really I need the PC’s now and it’ll probably be 2020 by the time threadripper 3 is out with all the mobos supporting it and all the initial bugs and bios ironed out.. till we know what’s what.

Totally excited!

[C4D] Feature Requests / Re: VDB
« on: 2019-08-02, 09:32:42 »
Yes, VDB is a big one, X-particles rendering with corona would be awesome, X-particles is one of the reasons people stick with C4D or choose an external renderer, you should get in touch with them they are really helpful!

I would first try to reduce the bump and see if the problem goes away.

[C4D] General Discussion / Re: Grass scattering
« on: 2015-06-04, 12:51:45 »
Well I just rendered a super dense field of grass with 117.000 instances and 460M polys with Carbon Scatter and there was No preparation time. None! That wasn't the case with surface spread or mograph. Also RAM usage was 1.5 gigs out of my 64. I don't know how carbon does it but it looks to me that it somehow overcame the standard C4D problem with many objects. At least it feels that way. I repeat I bought the program like everyone else and i don't work for them! It used to be a crappy program back in the beggining it would crash a lot but nowdays no crashes and its a solid tool.

I use carbon scatter a lot and it has saved me when it comes to cloning vegetation and other stuff! It can handle much more than the native cinema cloners and it is so much smoother with much more intuitive controls when it comes to spreading vegetation. You can use splines etc. which is really handy. I can clone a hole field with grass and it can handle it just fine. Also I don't work for them, I just like it..

[C4D] General Discussion / Re: Alpha v3 wishlist
« on: 2015-05-12, 11:53:13 »
You can find it under your plugins menu under corona/colormapping (the light bulb icon) you can tweak exposure etc while you are rendering in the picture viewer and it will update it automatically. It doesn't work if the render is finished though, you have to tweak it while it's still rendering.

« on: 2015-05-09, 12:06:04 »
Yeah, I've already tried this but it doesn't work all that well, putting it in a layer with contrast and brightness controls or in a multiply mode on top of a white color layer gives you some control but it's not enough because whatever we do we can not go lower than 0,001 ..
