Any older version including Corona 12 - so Corona 12, 11, 10, 9, etc. If you aren't on Corona 12 Update 1, the License Server needs updating either by installing Corona 12 Update 1 (Hotfix 1) or by manually updating the License Server.

Yes, Corona 12 Update 1 is the first version to feature the new licensing, any older version (including Corona 12) will stop working on Jan 28th. Yes, there is now a Hotfix for Corona 12 Update 1 :) Also, you can update the licensing server manually if you don't want to update your Corona version, there is a detailed guide at https://support.chaos.com/hc/en-us/articles/30185867975185-How-to-update-your-Chaos-License-Server-Version . is it possible to get demo scenes for each version release, where the new features are in the scene?
we know this from Blender (https://www.blender.org/download/demo-files/) where it helps to do technical checks and tests of the rendering infrastructure.
also for the artists it could be quite nice, to have an example to play around with.

I'm aware of resolution scaling calculations, my point was to give a cost estimate on the farm without having to do a test render on the farm/using up render credits. No idea how this could be achieved, but it would be a unique solution.

that's something doable but the question is how accurately does the calculation needs to be? Would e.g. 100-200$ be ok for you?
