Just posted this in another post but a specular pass would be amazing.

We already have it: reflection.

Specular in CG graphics is just a fast fake approximation of actual reflection. In the 'real world', there is no such thing as 'specular'.

The specular Pass is not just a approximation of reflection, whatever that means, it is the highlighted area of reflections.

Non the less if people are asking for it why not have it? it improves peoples workflows and post production retouchers here keep asking for it.

No one said it has to be removed from the reflections pass.

Has there been any updates to this? Anything in the pipelline? our studio's retouchers keep asking for the specular pass since transfering from vray.

It really helps in post production aspect. Its fine to say do it in the render and materials, but when your making a lot of kitchens in a week its such a great thing to have.

Hi

I just experienced this issue , where i have a see-through frame buffer, Easily resolved by clicking the corner and resizing the window.

I was also wondering if there is any way of reopening the frame buffer while render is still processing other than opening up the render setup, could a Show VBF be added to the main toolbar? Or is there a toolbar i haven't opened?

Edit: Please be aware my render time was just because i left it on overnight :)
