General CG Discussion / Animation Problem

I made an animation in 3ds max with 25 frames but it turned out to be like a stepped animated gif. When object moves there is no smooth movement and if I want to slow down animation I can almost see frame by frame. Is there a way (plug-in or something) to "create" or fake a between frame?
My other thought is to make more frames between the existed ones but how am I goint to do that?
