[Max] I need help! / Re: Corona 1.5 LUT vs ArionFX LUT's
« on: 2016-10-31, 14:23:29 »
I love ArionFX I really can't do without it now, I use it for photos as well even if it's not 32 but 12 bits, it still worth it.

I can't tell for Corona but it looks like there's a gamma correction problem here. It's easy to be lost in all those settings, even more now with 1.5 -_-

oh, I didn't know that was an old RAM problem. I never had this before Corona 1.4, now I do. Sometimes after 6 hours or more of rendering (no displacement whatsoever), sometimes right away when I start the render. Corona 1.3 was more stable I think, but maybe that will not happen with fresh new scenes, not sure yet.

wow after 1 week nobody cares... ok fine x)

...almost everything in the title :)
For Corona 1.3 I created a cute little button to stop the Interactive button in the viewport when my computer slows down (especially when trying to update the material previews in slate editor).
Here's the code :

macroScript stopRendr
category: "Corona Renderer"
Icon:#("Stop_icon",1)
(
CoronaRenderer.CoronaFp.stopRender()
)

Not working anymore with 1.4 :( I'm not sure but it seems that it's resetting the render.
I already went to the wiki page to check if anything is different (https://corona-renderer.com/wiki/maxscript).

What do you think guys, did I miss something ?
I don't really understand why it's supposed practical to right click on it and change the view every time I want to stop it.

Oh I'm searching for that too ^^ Here's what I'm working on, I really need some foam ! Thanks RAwalanche for sharing the link, I will take a look into that Houdini Ocean Kit stuff.
 Obviously trying to sculpt water is a no-no but... don't mind that haha xD

Alright, still a bit strange in my head but I think I get it. I guess it's not possible/logical not having refraction while having translucency at the same time. And reflections.
So, what's your advice guys, keep Refraction IOR and Reflection IOR the same value ?

[Max] I need help! / Strange IOR behavior
« on: 2016-02-16, 08:29:22 »
Hi,
It's been post on Youtube but I think I should post here as well. I can't really say I "need help" but this was bugging me somehow.
I discovered that by chance, it seems that even with Refraction set to 0, the IOR value still have an effect on a material using SSS and translucency.
I know, it doesn't make sense so here I reproduced the problem and made a screenshot of it

This is monstrously realistic, once again... the extra glare in the background looks nicer than the original photo x)
