Hi ... i've the same problem on 50% of 1.6 scene ...  without fur ( rare i use it ) ... i restart Max, reopen scene, and then work.. :

variuos hardware but all dual Xeon,  various complexity of scene,

Max 2014  : windows 10 and windows 7 ..

never in backburner mode ...

ah .... may be --- may be --- is no when i start use 1.7, but when i start use corona camera ... mmmmm may be is that ? in next days i try to reuse vraycam,

Hi i've the same problem, only from 1.7 release ... i work good, i do preview, i do fix and refix.. when i start final render, in stand-alone or distribuite mode, max crash ... in all scene, i think, easy or complex... i restart max, i restart render and all work fine... No upgrade o new software in my comp .... nothing is changed.
With Vray, or Fstorm i've no this problem.

Probably did not understand my comment, I do not need anyone to explain why the interactive preview is slow, I would like it to come back in versions 1.4 and earlier.

Also how do I view that panel where I can modify those parameters, to make IR more immediate and responsive?

For me is the same, after 1.4 IR is very less interactive, sure i work with heavy scene, but with 1.4 when i change one material, or one light outside light mix, response was immediatly, now is very slow, sometime freeze for a 5 - 10 seconds, and then start, every time, restart from 0, with " big pixels" and i need wait a lot until i can see my fixes. I've a lot of different comp, from I7 12 4930 K until xeon 2680 v4, all ssd 64 gb of ram and windows 7 and windows 10, i i've a scene with few thousand poly until hundred millions of polyg, i use scene standard, scene with proxys, scene with displacement, scene with easy shaders scene wirh complex shaders, scene with xref and so on... scene start from 0 with corona 1.5, 1.6 and now 1.7, old scene ... and i've 4 guys work in different mode ...
Corona render was perfect because it's simple, fast, effective, and instant .. now it's getting more complicated with many features, I do not want it to eventually become like other slow and difficult to use engines. Immediate speed and ease of use are the elements to be pursued, photographic rendering and the end we must achieve. Who wants a complicated, slow and difficult to use software knows where to look ... I think it is better not to distort Corona Render.
I also have to say that crown 1.7 has much less freeze than crown 1.6, it seems more stable.
I think it is useless to continue running behind a rabbit to try to overtake it and have the short breath .. better to walk slowly and stay fit.

Hi the same problem, i tnk because each node generate random colour different. ..on all scene, all view :)

Hi .. we use 3 workstation in win 7 and 10, with 18 node with win 10 and win 7 without problem .. 3ds max   - Corona 1.61 - in Backburner or Distribuite render. and we jave also old windows server where we have backburner manager .. ( comp are I7 and Dual xeon with 64 gb ram )

Hi, if can help, we work on scene 20/ 30 x biggest with billion of polig with 4 / 5 xref and with 64 gb ram work good. Only we use LIght mix to find good light, and then re-setup light with new parameters and render with 5 / 6 Render elements, but wthout light mix, and all work good. Use denoising and render on 7000 pixel .

i tnk  is no problem of Cproxy and Xref .. we work with main file and 5/6 xref with a lot of proxy for a very big scene and i've just finished one animation without problem. Usually i don't work with linked file, but for me is better at the end import file directly in max without link.

The main scene i'm working is with 41 milion polyg, and xref are about 100 - 200 mil polyg .. only i increased every workstation with 64 gb of ram.

You can merge step by step xref to check if there is some file corrupt, for example, if xref are loaded is fast ...

Other ... i don't tnk because we work with xref in a 90% of our scenes for years...

We use Max2014 and corona 1.3.

Curiously 10 days ago we did an animation test with 300 frame, on 30 different machines with the backburner, and only 1 frame had the same problem.
I have not paid much attention, but now I checked and and 'as if that frame had been rendered without refraction and a quality' more 'low. Surely all computers have done more 'frame, at least 10 each, but the problem does not and' resubmitted.
We have done so many static render and  animation for thousands thousand of frames and it 's never happened. I believe it is not a Corona Render problem.

like it or not? i don't believe this is the problem. Be forced to install win 10 to use Corona 1.4 do not think is correct. We work with 30 computers with Windows 7 and corona 1.3 and "everything works perfectly". We installed three machines with windows 10 and we only crash problems and low speed '. We would like to switch to an updated version of corona, but the thought of re-install 27 computers with all the risks that something then do not go well and blocks our workflow, I do not think we will upgrade until a few years when Windows 10 will ' fully functional. When we purchased the 6 updates of Corona was not that it was necessary Windows 10 to work best. We will continue our tests corona 1.4 on windows 7 and if it does not work we will change. Long life to win 7 !!!

Hi guys,

i try to start with empty scene, and all works good.

Very Simple, Simple and medium scene , and i've no problem.

1000 pass, denoise, real time render, normal shaders, standard camera.

In next days i open old ( 1.3 ) scene and retry..

Windows 10 is an upgrade.

3DsMax is installed after 2/3 month about.

But until now i used "old" 1.3 corona scene to test, soon i test new scene, with new material, light, and so on...

I think that we are Intensive Corona Render users ; we render a year thousands of images from 10 to 100 hours each, scenes of hundreds of millions of polygons.
We have 16 computers I7 3930 K with 32 GB of RAM and 10 Dual Xeon super micro with 64 gb of ram which are replacing I7.
The combination 3dsmax 2014 Windows 7 and corona 1.3 never gave problems stability 'or crash.
We have a test comp where we install the new versions of the programs, and we noticed that we can not finish a render with max 2015 corona 1.4 and Windows 10.
I've already tested Gimps without problem

I use I7 with 32 Gb Ram, Windows 10, Max 2015 and corona 1.4, and everytime crashed with different scene, little, big, simple and hard, in different situation : real time preview, render, editor material

This is my test machine and all is updated.

With Max 2014 and corona 1.3 all work good and fine with hundreds scene.

We continue using corona 1.3 in our studio.
