Hello! I'm having continuous crashes in the scene you see in the attachment. It's a spotlight made by a cylinder, then a cone with a CoronaVolumetric Material applied to it, and a CoronaLight set to Disc for the lighting.
When the Interactive Rendering stars Max crashes, sometimes. In other cases, it crashes after moving the spotlight or changing a parameter in the CoronaLight.
The behavior only happens when the Secondary Solver is set to UHD Cache, when set to Path Tracing it works fine.
I'm working with 3ds Max 2022.0 and Corona 7 RC5.
Is this a known bug? The scene is in the attachments.
Thanks,

Stupid question:

Where is reflection slot?

I think the slot we knew as Reflection now it's been incorporated in the Base layer under the Color option, which makes sense because in reality the base color and specular reflection are one thing, in cgi they are separated for artistic purposes, at least this is how I understand it. Also in the tool tip there is a simple explanation.

Hi, I've done some simple tests with textures from Megascans, using the latest daily build of Corona v6, they seem to work fine. The difference between the viewport and the rendering is almost none. They are pretty impressive!

Sure, no problem!
I'm uploading the scene through Dropbox, the name of the file is "corona_v06_20022020_adaptive_sampler.zip"
Cheers,

Enrico

First test, with daylight, using the new Adaptive Sampler! There are definitely major improvements! Both images are rendered with Corona 6, I just changed the Environment Sampler, render time 10 mins.
With the new sampler, the noise level reaches a lower amount with fewer samples and it seems to bring more light inside. There are some fireflies, mainly in the shadows areas (under the coffee table and the sofa), that are not visible with the old sampler (NormalDep Compensated).

Maybe it's worth to ask the author of Batch Material Edit script to update this tool to be compatible with the latest changes in Corona material?

https://forum.corona-renderer.com/index.php?topic=12857.0
or directly on scriptspot: http://www.scriptspot.com/3ds-max/scripts/batch-material-editor

Great! Thanks, I wasn't aware of that tool!

Hi, here is a first test trying out the new masking feature. It works great, no problem in setting the correct option in the respective materials. It works with IDTool as well, if anybody is wondering about that.
Few notes:
1- It would be nice to have a way to set simultaneously the Propagate masks option in multiple materials.
2- maybe I missed something but once the Propagate masks option is used is not possible to have a mask of the object anymore (in the attached image the vase and the mirror). If I need to change the refraction or reflection in post how can I mask those objects?

Thanks for all the great work!
