Are you able to more or less reproduce the preview image?

Have you tried with a Corona material instead of a standard C4D one?

Yes.

Care to provide link to manufacturer's site?
Main texture (ALU010039_d.jpg) is missing from your folder.

But basically, this ain't complex at all, plain textures are driving a simple shader.
So also note, to achieve look you're after, you'll have to match lighting.

You have to register to access the files. I know that this texture is missing, but ALU010039_d3.jpg should be the right texture to use there no?

To achieve the dynamic look of the texture I assume that there should be something more than just a plain glossiness texture and one-color diffuse map... note the color gradient.

Hello,

I am trying to achieve this preview with the shaders provided by the manufacturer. I am not able to get close to the preview with the textures and c4d file provided.

Your help is very appreciated!

[C4D] I need help! / Substance materials

Hello,

I am still not able to get reflections working with Substance materials.

Simply loading them as noted here:
https://help.c4d.corona-renderer.com/support/solutions/articles/12000050028-how-to-import-substance-assets-into-cinema-4d

and adding them as a Node does not work.

How should you import Substances correctly?

When I try to create a Corona material, add it in the node editor and plug in a Substance shader, for example in diffuse, my C4D freezes and will not return.

Is that what you did there?

You may also want to recreate these C4D materials to Corona and plug the textures back into the appropriate channels.

Thanks, I will try that. Is that the regular workflow with Substance materials & Corona?

[C4D] I need help! / Achieving Glossiness
« on: 2020-06-10, 15:21:27 »
Hello,

I am looking for some very glossy and reflective surfaces in my current project and I cannot seem to achieve that.

In the viewport, the surfaces look very glossy and I do not know what I should change in my settings anymore.

I would like both walls to the left and right to look more glossy. Both materials are Substance materials.

I appreciate your help a lot!

Warm regards,
Nils

I noticed that disabling the highlighted conversion option during import and using Optimize on the complete geometry also resolves the issue completely. Thanks again for your help.

@houska: I tried to reproduce your solution, but I noticed it creates the same problem of strangely rounded geometry that I receive with using Optimize. Can you tell what is the problem here? Thanks a lot!

Here is the file again: https://we.tl/t-5Nu02G7Dsp

@Designerman77: Edges optimize creates the problem I mentioned initially and that is visible in my attached image. Do you know how to solve that?

Thank you for the help!

@houska: How could I fix the mesh in the first place?

[C4D] I need help! / C4D: Displacement map tears edges apart
« on: 2020-02-17, 18:35:38 »
Hello,

this is probably an easy to solve issue, but it keeps following me on every model that I work with until I disable Displacement maps.

I usually export from Rhino or Archicad in obj, fbx or 3ds file formats.

No matter what file format, the Displacement map always explodes my geometry.

I tried inverting Normals, using a Bevel or Optimizing. Optimizing though creates very strange round deformations - visible in the image attached.

C4D model: https://we.tl/t-rDtLOQlC2G

How can this issue be solved?
