[C4D] General Discussion / Re: C4D 2024.4 Particles
« on: 2024-04-22, 20:32:49 »
It's killing me that Corona is sooo behind on rendering particles. I thought with C4D 2024.4 releasing a new and improved particle system, Chaos would have taken the opportunity to finally support native particles. And before you say Redshift, I like to have the ability to render a complete scene in one renderer instead of doing multiple passes and compositing in post.

[C4D] I need help! / Corona always crashes C4D
« on: 2022-03-11, 08:41:24 »
So, something weird has happened and I don't have any clue what is causing it. I have R23 110. And I was using V6 hotfix 1 of Corona Renderer. At first, When I tried to render a scene, it crashes C4D completely. Then it got to the point of even if I load a corona texture, it crashes C4D completely. Doesn't matter what project I'm in. Can be a brand new project. I uninstalled corona and tried a reinstall. Then I upgraded to Corona 6 hotfix 2. Than I upgraded to Corona 7. Same thing still. Then I unstalled all versions of C4D and reinstalled R23. Same problem still. Then I installed R25 and reinstalled Corona 7. Same thing still. It can be a scene with nothing in it. When I try to creat a new corona material, it crashes C4D. I'm on windows 10 21H2, running an AMD Threadripper 3960X 24c. 128Gb of ram with a RTX2080ti card. The only thing I haven't tried is doing a full reset of Windows. I can't revert back a few days, because I don't have that option available. Is it anything to do with runtime or a framework? Any help would be appreciated. Attached is the bug report. Maybe one of you fine people may be able to tell me what's happening. Thanks!

[C4D] General Discussion / Re: Corona C4D and 3990x
« on: 2020-06-05, 19:26:19 »
I run a 3970X, because the  3.7ghz single core speed vs 2.9ghz  is vitally important for working in Cinema4D in general. I thought about going for the 3990, but the single core speed was going to hurt me in a lot of instances.  Luckily, if I need to preview a render heavy frame quickly, I have 8 2990's in a mini farm that I can use to render a single frame to picture viewer. I'm at 128G Ram, working off a 2080ti and a Titan X.

[C4D] General Discussion / Re: Volume Material - Inside Mode
« on: 2019-06-17, 21:25:09 »
I made this super quick after downloading the new nersion of Corona today. It's two primatives, a light and a plane. Take a look at it and you'll see how simple it is to get something with volumetric shading pretty quickly. Just used a couple of noise shaders and played around until they felt OK. I used an HDRI in my sky, but used just a light material in the attached scene.
