Yes, this is what I also thought. Otherwise, there would be other reports too, so very likely, that it is an issue for older versions only.
No, didn't check with newer version, because I'm stuck with R20 for some time (don't really want the newer, subscriptions sucks, lol)

Also not a big issue, can live with that. Just to be sure: I can't download models from browser, right? I can see the library online, but downloading is only possibly in C4D, correct?

Hi I'm having an issue with Cosmos and VFB.
When I start a session, everything is working as expected. VBF and Cosmos.
But after some time, can't 100% tell when exactly, it happens after I started using IR or production rendering, Cosmos freezes and VFB doesn't correctly refresh the window.
For VFB I can just manually change the size of the VFB window as a workaround, but Cosmos freezes until I restart C4D.

My problem with VFB is that when I click "hide tools sidebar," the VFB doesn't update correctly. The stats go away, but the gray frame stays until I change the size of the window.
Cosmos: It freezes completely, I can't click anywhere, doesn't load, only way to get it working again is to restart C4D.

Does anybody have an idea, how to resolve this? What could be the reasons for the freeze?
Any help is welcome. :)

@maru, it says AI Material Generator launches today, and it will become immediately available in Corona too. This sounds like we will also get it in the next days? Can't wait to test it :)

I never used fur object, so I'm not sure. But hair works out of the box with Corona. With hair, you have also much more control :)

This is not supported, unfortunately. There were feature requests for this years ago, but nothing happened yet.
You would need to use another render engine or do it in post.

What you need is Corona mapping randomizer.
There is an option called Randomize each tile, which should help with large surfaces.

Linear 16-bit EXR will be treated as 32-bit in Photoshop or Affinity Photo. This is expected.

You could do everything in linear 32-bit mode (which I like the most) or convert it to 16-bit.
I can't give you advice for Photoshop, but you should find some tutorials on Youtube how to do it.

And why can't you use the bend function in Corona decal?

If that doesn't work, you would have to do it with a material, yes... Or model it...

I'm not sure if this is a bug or a known limitation.

- create Corona Sky
- activate volume effect in Sky
- create a volume grid like you would use for fire, smoke, or clouds
- if the camera is close to the VDB, the render looks fine
- if I move the camera further away from the VDB, I get a box where the volume effect of the sky doesn't work.
- it does happen in IR and final
- this gives me a nasty artifact that I need to remove in post

Sure. Activate multipass and there under shading you should see VirtualBeauty. Choose VirtualBeauty two times, first with denoising strength 100% and another with 0%.
So you get a denoised and undenoised version of your render.
You can mix them in post.

I'm not sure if I understand you correctly.

So you are using several deformer and generators in your scene, right? And this makes your scene slow, even when you hide them?
1. you could improve the setup of the deformers and generators. If possible, bake simulations. 
2. if you want to hide objects with deformers or generators, use always layers. Easy and fast. Create a new layer, add it to all objects you want to hide. Deactivate in the layer tab generators and deformers for the layer you created.

It looks like your example is not corresponding to my example. I can also have 3 or more poly selections and materials assigned. Works fine. The problem starts, when I add a second material to one of the selection.
An example in a real scene could be a base material and then a dirt or snow material on top with opacity channel activated. In this case you would use a poly selection twice.
Tree as example:
poly selection 1 - trunk
poly selection 2 - branch
poly selection 3 - leaves (until here everything is working)
poly selection 3 - snow on leaves (and this is where the issue begins, a selection is used twice)

Workaround for now is to use a layered material, so I don't have to use the poly selection twice.

As I wrote:

- create another material and apply it to one of the selections you created before (so a selection is used twice)
- create a proxy - materials are not correctly applied.

Does it work for you if you assign a second material to an already used poly selection?

It does still happen to me, even when I create a new scene. I'm using R20 and Corona 12 Update Hotfix 1. Perhaps it is related to R20 only?
