im trying now to compare my earlier renders with the newer ones - i was hoping for some kind of VFB history like with vray. I had already enabled the autosave feature, but every time i open the VFB there is no history - it seems to disappear every time you close max.
How can i load multiple autosaved exr files into the corona frame buffer ?

thx !

where do i turn off adaptivity ? cant find it. O OK - I found it !  I'll try it now :)

I just had another go at this - and am getting much better results than before. However, I still need half an hour with 4 computers to get an acceptable result - ideally i would like to be able to do this with just 1 computer.
I turned off the secondary solver and used these changes to the default settings: MSI = 10, MRD = 10, GIvsAA = 32

Recently completed my first ever renders (interior scene of a lounge/bar space) with corona - i started the project in vray and then half way through switched to corona, with good results. However, the render times are at least double what i would get from vray - but still ok (so long as i do not have a tight deadline). I rendered each image with 4 computers (all comparable to i7 6850K in terms of speed). 4000px x 2252px image took about 4 hrs to complete to a satisfactory level (still with visible noise, but the denoiser took care of that nicely).
HOWEVER - the 3d people in my scenes always need to be rendered in a seperate pass & comped in photoshop. Typically in vray if a typical render takes 1 hour i would expect the pass for the people to take about 5 minutes - the idea being that rendering the people in isolation should be quite fast since they are a very small percentage of the overall image.
In Corona, rendering those people was taking the same amount of time as rendering the full image with everything visible (apart from the people).
There are no complex materials in this scene, and im not using SSS or anything like that.
I have experimented with turning off the secondary pass, and making some subtle adjustments to the render settings (based on watching the tutourials on the website, including the one about common mistakes made by noobs).
Anyhow, I am wondering is there anything else i should know about this - is there no way that Corona can render a really fast simple rgb pass for a selection of objects in the scene ? Waiting 3-4 hrs for the people to render is far too long for me.
This is an example of a render pass that is taking way too long to clear up. For these passes i dont really need anything special - i just need a clean diffuse render with lighting/shadows, but nothing else.
