Hardware / AMD Ryzen Threadripper 1950X vs Intel i9-7900X
« on: 2018-03-03, 20:42:41 »
Hello guys,
I'm planning to build a new workstation, and I'm deciding between AMD Ryzen Threadripper 1950X vs Intel i9-7900X
Which one is better for Corona?
Thanx.

I see, that sounds good.
I'm an Intel and nVidia guy so I have no idea what's good in AMD world.
Thank you, I'll talk to the tech guy.

Hi guys,
I have AMD FX(tm)-9370 processor at work, and our technical guy asked if I want to upgrade to AMD Ryzen 7  1800X, so is it better?
Does anyone have the Ryzen 7 1800X, do you have any issues with it in Corona or 3DS MAX?
Thanx.

Hello I actually found the fix for this.
In the "performance" tab, the "precision" value was set to 0.5 by default, if you increase it to 2-4 then the issue is fixed.

Hi I came to work today, and it works fine here)))
Originally I created the model at work (3DS MAX 2018 + Corona 1.5), but at home I have 3DS MAX 2015 + Corona 1.5, so it's probably comparability and export issues.
But thanx for your help anyway

Thanx but it's not the geometry.
I've even intersected objects.

Hello I'm new to Corona,
I've modelled a scene and tried to render it, but for some reason, I see a glow in the corners.
It's as if there are some small light emitters scattered along the edge.

Please help

Hi,
Corona 1.6 Latest.

10
Hello everyone,
I've just got a new job and I've installed 3DS MAX 2018 (trial) and Corona 1.6 (trial), but I have a problem.
As soon as I begin rendering the screen freezes, I cannot do anything.
If the scene is EMPTY, no light nothing, it would render for about 700 passes (1-2 mins) and if I open another software it freezes. The CPU is being used by 80+% during empty rendering. And if I try to render with anything in the scene then it freezes a second after I press the "RENDER" button. I can see the silhouette of the object, but then it freezes. It seems like it doesn't have enough strength, but it's impossible coz its a 4.4Ghz CPU!!!
Please help
