If we talk about a small deception with a thickness, then this can make sense.

But if it's really thick leaves like 2-3 mm +, it's complicated. Since the faces are the only problem

Looks great!
I created an lowpoly model for plants from Mega Scans for thickness and close angles. But your plane sheets look great! They saved a lot of time without modeling the model =)
