It would be great if you could, under distributed rendering add an option to assign certain number of slaves instead of "Search LAN during render".
If you render a job using the distributed render using specific slave IPs', a slave can drop, and it won't be back after the drop, because the "Search LAN during render".

The other issue with this system is when you have more renders on a render management (like Deadline for example), you must know that your render slave will be free at the specific time of render start. In other words, it will only use the specific render slave for slave, and by the time it renders, the render slave might be busy while other slaves are free and idle.

Vray has this solved by selecting a number of slaves. You could do the same. It would help people a lot.

Double checked everything, everything is the same, and all the network locations work. In addition you will find screenshot of settings used in my distributed rendering.

Distributed render on 1.6 doesn't work as it used to work in 1.5. The main difference is that it doesn't have the same standard for calculating noise level. I used to work with 7%, and the difference is obvious when I switched to 1.6. I had to lower the value a lot. But that isn't the main problem I'm having.

I have problem with stripes with different level of noise. I am including examples of it.

It's not just you. I have same K4770 processor and it's doing the same thing. It went up to 100 degrees Celsius. I was monitoring heat. I stopped render and it went back to nominal temperature of 35-45 degrees Celsius. During the render, my processor load was 100%, so I decided to check if V-Ray uses 100% too because that was never a issue with V-Ray renders. When I rendered test scene cpu load was 100% too, but it didn't go over 80 degrees. And it was stable. I hope there will be solution to this, because I would love to use this render engine.
