Hi Maru.

Indeed, some paths were set up wrong.

Don't know if this come from Max or Corona, but when I set up my output path, in the common tab (render output), the path set up for each render element gets wrong.

1- By just deleting these output paths, I can render in .cexr.

2- While I'm writting this, I've just seen that when the render stops, Max tells me it can't write the output file...

Please note that I have this issue just with .cexr, and this is working perfectly with all the other formats. Also, the path exists and is properly set up.

What would you suggest ?

I'm using Max 2016 + Corona 1.5 (hotfix 1)

EDIT:

for example when I choose .cexr, my output path is this one

renderoutput\Shot_001\Shot_001_Light_Top.cex   instead of .cexr ?

but in .exr it gets like this

renderoutput\Shot_001\Shot_001_Light_Top.exr

We are currently working on a standalone denoising/postprocessing/lightmix application, so stay tuned for 1.6 release

1- ok so the solution to tweak lights, after rendering, and after turning off Max, is only possible in post-production ?
2- Then, why being able to save light presets / corona configuration ? it is just for instant tweaking ?

Hi There,

Thx for your replies guys !

I think the main question is about, how to be able to use this feature, as Maxwell does, with MXI files. Means being able to tweak lights, a long time / some time after a project is done for example. Not doing anything in PS or Fusion or whatever post-production package. But to make it within Max and Corona.

When setting up the path of the output files in .cexr format, Max is giving me a pop up, saying Error Creating File Output (not popping up in .exr).

Any tips or advices guys ?

Hi Corona Community,

I'm facing a problem with the new awesome LightMix feature.

1- In a scene, I saved out a few different light situations / light mix, 4 actually, but each output (exr) were looking the same. Like if I didn't play with anything... Is there something special to do I didn't get ?

2- Is there a way to load a render, to play again with lights ? I didn't find a way to reopen Max, load an exr for example, and then, create new light situation / light mix, without re-rendering the scene.

Hi Corona Community,

Just would like to talk about setting up a mini render farm, with Corona.

Right now I have the 3ds Max: FairSaaS licence, with 3 render nodes included.

I don't have much knowledges about hardware. So my first question would be, what would you suggest in terms of hardware, to be able to use these 3 render nodes ? Do I need 3 complete machines (with graphic cards, RAM and everything) ? or is there other solutions, like having 3 CPU somehow ?

Then, I know there is a topic about it at coronarenderer.freshdesk.com, but we don't really need to get 3dsMax installed on each node right ?

Also, we need a Operating System on each node ?

You see I'm really dummy regarding this topic...

There are scripts working for Vray, so we should find a way to do that with corona :)

Or what about having a script/feature doing:

1_For all shaders in the scene, select by material
2_Add an object ID to the geo
3_Add all render element needed to render the mask

This is really bad...

When you have DOF or Motion Blur, having RGB masks is the best. I don't understand why such a simple thing is not possible in Max.

You guys at Corona have an idea ?

well, this is an option... but random colors is not the best.

RGB masks are the best for selection.

So what I ask for, is, a feature which allows to create all RBG masks you need, in a few clicks.

1- Add an ID in all material present in the scene (more than 16)
2- Add all render element needed to render the mask

When u have 100 materials visible in ur render, it's a bit painfull to add 33/34 RGB masks render elements.
