Hi Marc! Thanks for your explaination. I tried as you described but I doesn't work for me.. I would use vertex map as distribution map so I'am interested a lot!
It is an old post, maybe something it was changed, but could you describe better your method or maybe upload a simple scene? thanks!

Hi Corona users!
I have a question for you. I'am starting to say that I'am a Cinema 4D user so all the solutions should be related to this software.
With the latest updates Corona is able to create wonderful caustics results but I would to level up these.
I often realize images with pools and watching reference images I see this amazing moving water effect. Do you have some advices to make it? Usually I use a deformer applied to a plane to moving the water and create the caustics but the result is homogenous. In this case I think that I have 2 ways to obtain the result:
1. Work on a texture;
2. Recreate the moving water with a fluid simulation software (I hope no..).

Some advices??

Hi, also for me the VFB has some graphics glitch (I don't see any border frame in the different tabs) like you and the zoom scroll is very very fast.
A multipass restyling would also be appreciated with new UI for more quick interaction (with + button for add light mix layers, etc instead to make a copy of or right click - add - new ligthmix select..)

Hi to all and thanks for the answers.
Sorry for the delay but I don't have much time in these days..
As soon as I can I'll try with the absolute path but if I'am correct in my past tests I just did it with no positive results.
Meanwhile, yesterday, with a working project I got it wrong and I used the wrong version of C4D and this was the result, I took a screen:



As you can see, the first render is always fine, after, from the second to the last, C4D rendered all the takes (all the takes took 4 hours each as I set up) but it had some mistakes during the file saving.

Hi, I have a very annoying problem that I still don't understand is related to Cinema 4d or Corona.

The Problem:
I’am on Corona 11 and Cinema 4D 2023.2.2 and MacOS 13.6.4 (22G513).
When I put many renderings in the render queue with the takes system, after the render time, it doesn’t save the image and show me an error: “Error – Saving Image”.
I use the tokens in the output file location like this:



I did few tests in these last days, and I discovered that with Cinema S24 version all is fine and it saves all the images.
Instead with the Cinema 4D 2024.2 same error of the 2023.2.2.

Some suggestions to fix the problem?

No "end of life" going on here :) Corona continues to develop at the same pace it always did, see previous comment on mature products just feeling like they develop more slowly due to things feeling less "groundbreaking/amazing" compared to the earlier days. And also see comment, if you see a feature in another engine (or even one you just think up), send it in as a feature request on the relevant board here in the forum. That's how you achieve "the changes you'd like to see"; rather than saying "Development feels faster on Software X" tell us what is being added to Software X that you feel you'd benefit from in Corona. Thanks!

Nice to hear this. I have this impression and I share it with you, only this.
I'am sorry for a feature that was in the pool of ideas that would be a lot interesting, that is the possibility to have connection between corona 3ds and cinema 4d files (maybe in the next releases?).
A feature that will be a game charger for Corona / Mac users, can be a sort of Chaos Vantage modded version for Silicon Apple processors.

It will be my impression but I think that the development of Corona (cinema4d only or also max version?) has almost stopped for a few months now. I don't understand this stop, I follow and use corona development from alpha releases, it has never been as stopped as now.
In the Trello page I don't see any new exciting features only optimizations. Mh.
Sadness! :(

Hi, I usually use render region to test part of my scene but recently, I forget active regions, launch renderings in the queue and find myself with pieces of rendering after hours of rendering. Lately this thing happens to me often and it's really frustrating! Before putting the renders in the queue, is it possible to see if there are active regions? or as an alternative, Is it not possible to have in future versions a warning or something like that? Thanks
