General CG Discussion / Complete kitchen interior tutorial
« on: 2015-07-18, 10:23:32 »
I'm making a big tutorial for creating an interior kitchen scene with incredibly high level of detail, where I will cover everything from modelling, materials, lighting setup and rendering (I'll use octane for the main videos but will also cover both V-Ray and Corona in seperate videos when I get to the rendering process), Marvelous Designer, Substance Painter, 3d scanning using your ordinary camera, and I will also share my process of creating my 360x180° HDRI's.

Also there will be some really nice tips and tricks that may speed up your work. As said, I will mainly focus on using Octane, but if you are using Corona, you can definately follow along as well since the workflows are more or less identical.

You can find the first parts of the tutorial at www.archvizscenes.com in the section "the big interior tutorial". On my site you will also find some other nice stuff, free models, free scenes, HDRI maps and so on.

Take a look, won't you.

Nice work! Only thing I react on is that leaves seems a bit dark, otherwise it looks great. Thanks for sharing, and it's great to see my free scene is coming to good use. :-)

If anyone want's the original scene, it's free to download from www.archvizscenes.com/#coronascenes

Hi.

I am sorry, I was looking around in the known bugs thread but I must have missed it. Thank you for your reply, I'll solve it with rayswitch. That I wouldn't be able to solve with only trial&error.

Thank's again!

Just noticed that if I hide the window glass, the light behaves correctly. Tried creating new geometry for the glass and new material, still the same result.

Seems like the light from hdri sun somehow disappears behind the glossy floor reflections. Tried restarting max, creating new materials, hdr map and settings, checked normal orientation etc. Can't figure out what's wrong, the scenes is set up exactly as I usually do.

Scene setup: HDRI light map (VrayHDRI node connected to color correction) in environment slot, rest is corona default settings.

First image shows how the light should look like, then i ONLY change floor material settings, nothing else.

Floor:
reflection 0
refl. glossiness 0

Floor:
reflection 0.5
refl. glossiness 0

Floor:
reflection 0.5
refl. glossiness 0.4

Floor:
reflection 1
refl. glossiness 0.3

Gallery / Danish design interior - Lighting Study
« on: 2015-03-27, 21:58:16 »
I made this small project as a study in lighting and materials in Corona 1.0. Furniture mostly from danish designs, and the whole set is inspired from an image I found on pinterest.

I''ve modeled and textured everything but the &tradition chair. Total work time about 8 hours, render times about 40 minutes except the painting close up which only took 6 minutes.

Corona team should be proud of what they have achieved with this renderer!
