Couple suggestions how you could improve your setup to get better result. Change subdivide mode to variable curvature, it will allow you to have more finely subdivided edges without blowing up polycount. Use several noise modifiers, first one with large scale and strength and each subsequent with smaller values and don't forget to change seed. Never use default seed! If you add chamfer modifier, you then can use some selection modifier to select only edge vertices based on curvature. I used tySelect for that, but you can use data channel. After some tweaking of the settings, you should be able to achieve pretty convincing results.

Hello all,

I am trying to replicate this Material in Corona Render.

The material scene is free to download, but its a Firestorm scene.. i ve attached the bitmaps.


I am ok so far with creating the Base material and the Layer1 Material.. i ve literally did it like in the firestorm scene...
But now when it comes to the "scratched" stuff i am struggeling.. I mean in Corona i think we will do it with an CoronaAO map
I am not familar with FS, but it seems the process is a bit different with creating outer edges dirt and inner edges dirt and all this mixing.. it was too confusing for.. so i tried it with the AO map and so on.. but it looks not good.. and very different from the original..

Maybe there is a other workflow, or how can i replicate this material, that it also looks so good

After a few tries with Box - Champfer - Subdivide - Noise i got this result

The second one i accomplished with the coronaroundedges and noise within radius

but still very different in my opinion

I am trying to replicate the edges of some elements from this Rendering

I ve asked the creator and got this answer:
i added a chamfer and a noise modifier to the geometrie! Your Geometry needs to be subdivided enough. If your pc isnt good enouigh just use the corona round egdes map and ad a noise map into the corona round edge map. The other way to do it is in postproduction

But i still not able to get similar results, mabye or i am very sure i am doing something wrong.. can someone give me a short guidance?
I tried the option with CoronaRoundEdges, but when i Plug in "Noise" in the Radius slot nothing happens..

is it possible that there are some settings who disable displacement?
I just created a new scene, did some modelling, and i added the texture now, with displacement settings..
also when i try it with the displacement modifier.. the texture just going up a few centimeter... but no displacement is there

Ah okay, so i have to load all the bitmaps new into a coronabitmap.
By the way, is there any benefit from giving the object an coronadiscplacement modifier instead of doing the displacement with the material itself?

I ve attached some screenshot, this is what it looks like when i import the material and add it on an object!

json says, area = 1x1m and height 0,036m ... the displacement settings of the material is -0,337cm and 0,337cm.. so its basically to low.. according to the json..

so i have adjusted the displacement to -3,37cm and 3,37cm .. and it looks like the last attachement..

is this the correct workflow?

Hello guys,

I ve tried a few materials from megascans.
The material preview on megascans always looks great, but when i import the material into 3dsmax i cant get similar results.
Also displacement and everything looks very strange to me.

When u import from megascans, whats the correct workflow? i Mean i have a UVW MAP modifier on the models with BOX MAPPING
I also tried the CoronaDisplacementMod if i can get a different result

For example the "GRASSY COBBLESTONE" material looks not good in my rendering.. the grass and everything looks very flat

Also a very special thing are roof tiles..

Good morning!

Just went back to my PC at the Office..
Have Corona11 there.. and i can see the Multimap Textures there..
What could cause this? Or which settings could that be.. have the same settings at the other pc

Hello guys!

I want to make a net out of ropes.. like the reference in my attachements..
I thought i try it with Corona Pattern... i created a Plane..
Downloaded a pattern in Chaos Cosmos and added it onto the plane.. as you can see in the attachement.. i havent changed anything and it looks like s...
It is totally distorted.. how can i solve this and scale the pattern?

Or would you do it in an other way?

Hello,

I have a problem with Sigerstudios material presets v6.1 /6.2
I can install everything without problem.. no errors and everything looks good.

When i open 3dsmax and i press the button for XSMP .. nothing happens.. i am getting no errors or something.. its just not working and doing nothing..
I tried to install/repair a few times.. but nothing worked..

The support at Siger istn responding.. so i tried it here..

Maybe someone can help me!
