Jobs / Concrete Sink and Interior Objects
« on: 2025-04-16, 20:03:48 »
Dear C4D and Corona Experts,

We have a small studio manufacturing sinks and interior objects made of concrete.
We would like to start show casing properly our products on our ecommerce shop

We need currently help with creating realistic product shots in a simple setups (example attached).
Priority is for sinks.

What we have:
- meshes of our products (we use Rhino 3d)
- we have pictures of our products for reference
- we have one product fully 3d scanned with photogrametry added texture (good reference)
- Substance 3D Sampler textures based on photos of our flat concret surface

If you are interested, please ping me on PM.
We are only starting sales, but based on pictures of our products, you will able to see that
we know what we do when it comes to formmaking and concrete casting of interior objects.

Thank you,
Kuba

[C4D] I need help! / Guidance

Dear Forum Crowd,

could you guide directionally on what light(s) and scene layout would you recommend to use to achieve
style as per attached screenshot.

Thank you
Mia

Dear Benjamin,

thank you for suggestions.

Could you help to assess if what I came up as my workflow will fire back at some point.
The biggest concern is that quality of rendering will suffer.

1: I have a physical object (concrete top in this case)
2: Based on a photo of top of the surface, in Substance 3D Sampler, I create a seamless material and all maps
3: I create in C4D concret top and export to Zbrush.
4: In Zbrush, I am adding some structural imperfections, damages, etc. I create UVs and export low poly with displacement
5: Back in to C4D, where I create a material to texture above mentioned concrete top.
- for AO, Base Colour/Diffuse, Roughness and Normals I am using seamless Maps from Substance 3D Sampler
- for Bump, I am using Displacement Map from Zbrush

Those are small imperfections, I am not using Displacement Channel in Corona

It kinnda work, but I have some questions...

How much of an issue is this mixing of textures. Do I loose a lot of potential photorealism by doing it.

I am a bit intimidated by Substance 3D Painter. Shall I, however, put energy to learn how to texture concrete top
model out of Zbrush there? With the help of my Maps from Substance 3D Sampler?

I am also only planning to learn to support visualization of my concrete creations.
Meaning I would like to limit the numbers of different softwares to support visualizations.

For small objects, I am using cross-polarization photogrammetry. It seems that I manage to get decent results.

But for bigger objects (like this table top, or for some prototyping I need the above workflow with modeling and realistic textures).

Welcome feedback.

I have attched C4D file and screenshots.

Thank you

Good Evening, I got stuck a bit an need a guidance on how to move ahead with one chalange.

I am trying to re-create a model of table top made of Concrete.
My current rendering was judged by my 7 years old son as fake.

What options there are to re-creat those:
- air bubbles
- rough patches of surface
- corners

What tools I shall be considering to potentially involve with similar objects made of concrete.

Based on what you see in regards to a mesh and materials, what I could improve and is not setup
correctly or optimal?

I have attached a c4d file with the object. As well, as some quick reference pictures of real objects.

Based on photo would you point me to a good source of a smooth concrete textures?

Thank you

[C4D] I need help! / Re: Corona VFB and saved cxr files

Thank you Beanzvision.
This is spot on what I wanted to understand.
I like Corona even more now after understanding CIE.

Greets.

[C4D] I need help! / Corona VFB and saved cxr files
« on: 2023-08-09, 15:18:05 »
Dear All,

Another question from the dummy type.
But here we go. I
I have a simple scen with LightMix that was rendered (to level 2% of noise) in Corona VFB and saved as crx file.

Can I somehow open this crx file in Corona VFB without a need to render again in order to only focus on adjusting
LightMix.

I guess my question comes to the following: is crx file reflecting the rendering output in the moment it was saved?

Thank you

Hi BigAl3D,

Thank you for a quick hint

Yes, it worked very well with Volume Builder and Volume Mesher.

With Voxel size of 0.1 cm it actually comes out smoothly enough without the need for Bevel.

Trade off is that it is about 156 K polygons..
Trying to increase Voxel size, but this destroys the shape of object. So almost home...

Have a nice weekend.

Dear Colleagues,

Appologies for a most likely dummy question

I am trying to create parametric frame using Cube and Boole.
It works well for outside edges.
But I am only able to achieve Bevel on the outside edges.
Is there an easy way to do it?

I have attached the file with object.

Many thanks for any possible hint.

Thanks,
Bart
