Hi,
the same thing happens to me. The converter does not replace Vray materials.
Some Vray materials don't render either, although they looked ok in Corona render 11. I had to go back to earlier version.

You need to put Material Library file to the same folder with installer file (corona-8-3dsmax.exe) and run it one more time.

I have the same.

Removing previous installation of Material Library... done
Installing Material Library... Failed to download additional installer data (MaterialLibrary): Failed to send GET request to https://installer.corona-renderer.com/3dsmax/8/MaterialLibrary
Error: Połączenie z serwerem odwołań było niemożliwe lub nie można było uzyskać ostatecznej odpowiedzi.
Unpacking and installing...
Operation result: failed
Writing installation database... done
Installation finished


Edit:
Ok it worked. I installed the libraries manually.
You need to download them from the link https://installer.corona-renderer.com/3dsmax/8/MaterialLibrary.
Then copy them to the folder with the universal installer file. Open installer and update.
