[C4D] Bug Reporting / Proxies not rendered
« on: 2021-08-24, 18:04:13 »
If I remember correctly, this issue is old already.

- Corona Proxy cloned using multi instance
- Expected result in IR
- Not renderer in final render

Win 10
C4D R20 (please check this issue with R20)
Latest version 7 + 8

If I remember correctly, there was a similar post some time ago.
As far as I know, this isn't supported yet, unfortunately.

What version are you using? Maybe something changed already in v7...

Only one material tag can have displacement - the first one. But you can use a layer shader in your first material and blend them as you want.

But I hope this will be supported in the future :)

[C4D] Bug Reporting / Re: Displacement not rendered in IR
« on: 2021-06-03, 23:57:57 »
Hi Tom

I did some testing.

It seems to me that it is much more stable when I have only one object.
When I have more objects using displacement, all these objects disappear much more often.

Hi Tom

Thank you for your reply. I haven't resized the VFB after starting IR.

I uploaded a small example for you.

Sorry Tom, I wasn't clear.

Here is an example:
First time when I started IR, every object was actually rendered, as expected.
Second time, just a few seconds later, without any changes, all object that use displacement aren't rendered. They just disappeared in IR.

It can happen in every scene, but it doesn't happen always.

Hi

It still happens that objects with displacement disappear in IR. I'm not sure when and why this happens, it looks very random to me. It happens daily and in every scene.
They appear again when I change something of the object like move a polygon or change material.

Can you confirm this behavior?

+1 very important! It is just a pain right now...

I had this or a similar warning too. The reason was that my VRAM was running out of memory. Quit PS and Firefox and restart C4D helped.
Maybe it's something similar in your case.

Hi

Thank you for updating Intel denoiser to 1.3.0 it resolved my issue! Everything is denoising as expected now :)

Thanks again!

[C4D] Bug Reporting / Re: Slowdown when using BumpMap
« on: 2021-04-06, 12:55:29 »
Hi Jan

I did some more testing.

Texture or native C4D stuff like fresnel-shader, color-shader or all other C4D shaders I tested (except noise) in bump slot = less than 100% CPU usage. (in some cases around 70%, sometimes 30%)
Noise or Corona normal-shader + normal map in bump slot = 100% CPU usage.

Thanks!

Thank you, Jan, for your response.

Would be nice, if you could update it.
According to https://www.openimagedenoise.org/ they improved denoising quality as well.

[C4D] Bug Reporting / Slowdown when using BumpMap
« on: 2021-04-05, 19:29:46 »
Hi

I'm not sure if this is connected to the latest daily, threadripper processor or something else.
When I render something with a material applied that includes bump map, my CPU is using less than 100% of its power (depends on scene, in this case less than 50%)
Noise in bump slot renders fine, as well as normal map.

It happened in every scene I opened today.

Hi

I had the time to build a new threadripper machine. Fresh installed Win 10, C4D R20 and Corona (latest daily). Nothing else on my pc.
But I still get this seam when I use Intel denoiser...! How can this be? New hardware and new installed software... I'm a bit confused to be honest.

I found only one case on Google where someone had the same issue as I have. (not Corona related)
https://github.com/OpenImageDenoise/oidn/issues/62
This issue was fixed in Intel denoiser v1.2.1 (Corona uses v1.2.0)

Thanks!

Hope you can enjoy these days!
