Awesome! Thanks a million!

I know of this thread https://forum.corona-renderer.com/index.php/topic,9686.msg62303.html#msg62303 here, which is great, but-by any chance- do you know of a place where I can look for models specifically related to construction sites and factories. They don't have to be highRes as the project will be real-time.
Any help greatly appreciated! Thanks.

I think it is because Ondra just added Maya to the list. This way the poll is not very representative.
Maya would be awesome... +1 for Maya.

General CG Discussion / Re: How do you learn?

I'm with Deadclown- If I could go back 20 years I would have slapped my younger counterpart and said "Yes, I know you are an artist and you don't like maths, but shut up: Go and learn to code!"

If you want to learn about color: Go and read 'Interaction of Color' from Josef Albers.

Royal Render is on the market since 13 years. It is mostly used by VFX and animation-studios. I guess this might be the reason it is unknown to ArchViz-people. Of course Deadline has the bigger piece of the cake, but IMHO RR is the far better software than Deadline.

Overall, for animation I still agree that BB is the way to go though.

Thankfully I wasn't in the situation to deliver animations with Corona. Thankfully because BB is such an ancient crap. I would like to try RoyalRender with Corona. It's free for up to 4 render-nodes, so this fits to the owner of a single-Corona-license(3nodes)

Let's say you got horrible rendertimes of x-hours/frame: then DR would come in handy, because when then last frame(s) render(s), the other idle nodes would join to help.

Ha, I knew it! :D
These double exclamation marks....!!
Welcome come back!!

Please excuse me to suspect a network/map-issue. That is really weird. Bear with the developers-I don't think this is an easy one to track down.

That's really strange, I don't recall anything similar. Maybe it's the HDRI that can't be accessed by some of the PCs? Or some other part of the environment?

that would be my guess, too.

Im using backburner with 2 machines, but all the textures are right setup on network, this strange problem only affects the reflections on all the scenes objects that have reflction on it ( reflections are controlled by the material settings no textures to control them).

I already test to render the animation in one simple machine and do the same!

Does this mean you're rendering the sequence on one machine(within Max or Backburner?) and you are getting the same random mix of right/wrong frames? Or does it mean it renders a sequence with the error.

How looks your scene render without the hdri?

Are you using a hdri to light the scene?

... or something else in the env slot or do you use the reflection override slot?

How are you rendering the animation? Is it a single computer or are you rendering on multiple nodes(backburner?). Are the reflections/refractions controlled by maps?

General CG Discussion / Re: Arnold for 3ds Max v0.5
« on: 2016-07-28, 15:05:18 »
The deleted MR? Really? In Maya it's only that Arnold is now the default renderer. AFAIK MR is still on board.
And I don't think they can afford to get rid of it completely.
