I did a project with a gradient brick wall a while back. Ended up making a few materials with bercon maps/multitexture where each material was the same, just the percentage of maps/count was altered in the multitexture map.

The building was sliced into 8 tiers/floor heights, then the materials were where applied accordingly based off the percentage required for each tier.

This is some of the best brick texture work I've seen in a while. Was it 3D or just displacement? Also the little details like the variations in the coping are fantastic.

Fantastic, especially the landscape elements.

Nice mapping, and kudos for the thread title.

I mean a very thin layer of rainbowy film, when you see something really up close. I am just not sure if this effect appears on metals.
I've noticed looking at many metal samples (mainly silver color) in the office that there is a layer that appears as a mix of green/purple at certain angles (unless it isn't an additional finish but just a characteristic of the specular reflection itself).
That micro specular color varies for other colored metals.

Great images.

Couldn't you just use the new select map with multiple HDRIs plugged into environment map?

I feel like I saw this home on a Netflix architecture series...unless it just looks similar.
Nice job.

Lovely images as usual.

Any chance you could share the setup for the bronze wall panels? I have a similar panel for an exterior cladding on a project but could never get the scale of the texture quite right...did you use a map or procedural?

Has there been any news on the new Threadripper options coming out later this year? I'm hoping there are 48/64 core options available. Will finally be able to get a new computer by then, and no doubt in my mind I'd go that route.

I suppose the ideal form of this map would be to include everything that bercon already does, but handles bump and displacement better.

One thing that any texture option out there fails to do however is handle corners well, especially when using multiple textures. Need an option for wrapping corners, and ideally how to handle mortar joints like concave or struck, etc (but that might be asking too much without actually modeling it).
I recently started trying out ATiles for bricks and it seems like a viable option (especially since you can use custom objects), but I haven't put it to the test of a full facade yet.

I really haven't had a pleasant experience with any version since 2014. If I had to choose, I'd say that 2017 is the most stable for me.

2016 crashed tons and was a pain so I had to revert.
2018 feels slow compared to 16/17.
Haven't tried 19/20...can't find a point to.

Very much appreciated, will test it out this week.

3.04 is the latest version/recompile, but the 3.01 text within the maps themselves was never changed to reflect updates. I have no issues with IR either. I never really use bercon gradient so I can't speak to its stability, but never had any issues otherwise except for this:

If you are using multitexture with bercontile, and you copy the nodes over to make a new setup, that will usually not only crash MAX, but will make your file unstable where it will crash once you open the material editor. So you have to start from scratch for a new material when using this combo to avoid the issue.
