Hello guys

I know I can use shadow catcher material in compositing mode and save an object directly with alpha and shadows emitting by the object. But here is the thing. I would like to save not just the flat image with alpha but all the layers like ID, reflections etc. using multilayer PSD format. THE PROBLEM IS THAT IT DOESN'T SAVE ALPHA in the background and virtual beauty layer. Am I right or am I missing something? Do I have to always save one PSD with layers and one PNG with direct alpha? I know I can save alpha layer itself by selecting it in the multi pass settings and apply it then in Photoshop forexample, but it is sooooooooo cumbersome approach. IS THERE A WAY HOW TO SAVE PSD WITH ALPHA DIRECTLY like you can do it in other render engines? I really do like using Corona but some things can drive people crazy.

Thank you for your reply. These are really bad news. I was used to render with Octane before Corona and DR with interactive rendering was working well there. You could connect all available PCs in the office and it got pretty fast then. So I hoped it might be possible with Corona in Cinema as well. It is a bit shame because sometimes you have a spare PC in the office with some extra computation power and when there is a time pressure (actually it would help always) during setting up the scene these extra computation power would help you to set up the scene before midnight, go home and pick up the result in the morning. I am really sorry to hear about this current and future limitation, because my colleague switched from Octane to Fstorm and he can still use DR in IR as well.

Hello

I would like to ask anybody if there is a way how to use the distributed rendering in the interactive VFB mode in Cinema C4D. I can use the team rendering to picture viewer, but it is good just for the final rendering. Obviously it is necessary to use more CPUs while preparing the materials and lights to be enough efficient. I used Octane before and it allowed network rendering almost since the beginning. Maybe it is possible to use DR in Cinema already, but I didn't find any clue how to use it. If somebody knows a solution, please let me know.
If that is still not possible I would like to ask, if there is a certain date/release when DR will bo possible in the interactive mode so I can prepare more complex scenes in Corona without waiting so long for previews. Many thanks for any information.

Hello

I have found this thread about softbox/texture control of area light a year ago, but it wasn't still change in Corona. It would be really great if we could control the emission of the area light directly in the light settings. I know we can use a simple plane with light material, but it is not as efficient as to control it in the area light directly.
Maybe I am missing something, so if someone knows how to do that, please advice. Thanks

I have noticed this old topic and when searching how to get softbox texture to the area light and it seems, that this option is still missing. It is really necessary to have this option there. If the development team read this, PLEASE make this possible in the next release. It is very very very needed. Thanks
